Looks like the fight is on with Israeli soldiers and civilians amongst the dead already. Question becomes, how long before we get dragged into this?

(I feel like the real reason for taking over all of Gaza goes far beyond this)

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday that Israel would control all of the Gaza Strip and prevent Hamas from looting aid.

The prime minister made his remarks as the Israeli military started in earnest a large-scale operation, called Gideon’s Chariot, that Netanyahu said amounted to his country essentially taking over Gaza.

“This is part of defeating Hamas, in parallel with the tremendous military pressure, our massive entry, to essentially take over all of Gaza and strip Hamas of all ability to plunder humanitarian aid,” Netanyahu said, according to a transcript provided by Reuters.

“This is the war and victory plan.”

An “Aid” official - of the only aid organization allowed in Gaza by Israel and the US, the “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation”, mocks desperate, starving Palestinians ushered into cages to wait to receive food:

    That’s not news, really.

If anyone was paying attention at all, they knew this was the case already.

Of course it’s news when someone who has been repeating government propaganda leaves their post and says the opposite.

This will always be the case - because so many people form their views based upon what people in power repeat - not based on the evidence that abounds otherwise.

    From Warsaw to Gaza...

How can a nation founded by survivors of one of the world’s worst crimes against humanity oversee policies that trap, starve, and displace another population?

How can people who lived through the trauma of dehumanization and forced ghettoization now tolerate — even advocate for — the same tactics being used in their name?

This is not about Jewish people. It’s about political power and moral accountability. Israeli leaders like Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir have openly spoken of “voluntary resettlement” — a polite euphemism for ethnic cleansing. Settlers cheer as neighborhoods are razed. Ministers speak of Gaza as “ours,” waiting to be claimed.

That rhetoric is painfully familiar to anyone who has read 20th-century history.

The lesson of the Holocaust should never have been "never again for us." It should have been "never again for anyone."
