I fear we are really going to be in a bad place due to the obvious cuts to the federal agencies that deal with infectious disease, but also the negative effect the Affordable Care act has had on non urban hospitals. Our front line defenses are ineffectual and our ability to treat the populous is probably at an all time low. Factor in the cost of healthcare and I can see our system crashing. What do you think about the politics of this virus?

Yep it is pretty pathetic just how just so out in the open they are about it.
If I were a conspiracy theorist it would seem like they (trump administration) planned this pandemic impact to the US knowing that it lead to a bailout so that they could raid the bailout to enrich themselves. It would explain why trump has been so slow to act. But I'm not a conspiracy theorist.

    I don’t believe that

I easily believe incompetence, I easily believe overconfidence, I easily believe wishful thinking

But I’m not buying this conspiracy theory

As much as I’m not a fan of Trump or his administration and as much as I wouldn’t put anything past them I’d really like to believe that this would be past them and would be a bridge too far even for them

IF it is true and if there is proof of it that emerges
that’s firing squad treason right there

If I WERE a conspiracy theorist, I could believe that trump and the people around him could be capable of such a plot but as I indicated before, I'm NOT a conspiracy theorist. However, given trump's past and his recent statements with respect to oversight of the bailout, I do believe that he plans to give money to his friends and take money for his businesses and then just force congress to go through the court system (that is currently severely impacted due to the virus) and run out the clock until the election.

If Trump is defeated in November, there needs to be serious consequences for his actions. This will not be the time to say "we need to bring the country together" or "we don't go after previous administrations". Trump and his administration will need to be investigated and people, including trump himself, will need to go to jail if they are found to have committed crimes. Trump has already been implicated in multiple crimes.

Unlikely, but in the narcissist's handbook it tells them to blame others for whatever you do.

In this case, it's never letting a crisis go to waste.

I truly do feel she’s worse.
And as I’ve said multiple times I loathe them all. Just the rest not as much as her.
And kudos on your post. Aside from the stupidity part it is the first one I’ve seen from one who has different beliefs than I, that hasn’t come back super smug and or condescending.

I don't even think its a question of who, personally, is worse. I'm no Hillary fan myself, but I think her cabinet and advisers would almost definitely be proactive with the pandemic rather than reactive. The pandemic team would still be in place and they would have been listened to and allowed to do their work months ago. I for one believe that and it's way more important, at least to me, than OMG her emails!!!!!!!!

    China: Grand Opening!!!

    Also China: Grand Closing.

    https://www.businessinsider.com/coronavirus-china-orders-all-movie-theaters-to-close-again-2020-3

Something tells me that China is not very open and honest about this virus they put upon the world.

Still, I have yet to see anyone take this crisis seriously and check with the NBA and Hollywood to see how China shirtting the bed has effected their bottom dollar. I bet they are so scared right now. Poor things.

On a side note. Is anyone besides me getting really tired of celebrities on social media crying for attention? We get it, your ego isn't being stroked enough. We are all kind of busy right now.

And the entire world was caught off guard. That either means that is not entirely true or no one in the world listened to the Obama team. And we all know Obama was worshiped around the globe.

Unfortunately that's Trump being childish, but you seem surprised. This is what he does.

This is becoming a common theme in the media and on the left. Not providing context or just the full quote.

Ok...here's a full quote...It's a full quote where he stated directly that Mike Pence should not call governor's who don't treat them right, and that he (Trump) won't call someone who doesn't treat him right.

"....Mike Pence, I mean Mike Pence I don't think he sleeps any more. These, these are people who should be appreciating. He calls all the governors. I tell him, I mean, I'm a different type of person. I say 'Mike, don't call the governor of Washington. You're wasting your time with him. Don't call the woman in Michigan. It doesn't make any difference what happens.' No, you know what I say? If they don't treat you right, I don't call. He's a different type of person, he'll call, quietly, anyway."

Why is it pathetic? Why shouldn't he do it?
--He asked a foreign government to help him in 2016. He was investigated, and republicans refused to call him out for it.
--He asked a foreign government to help him in 2019. He was impeached, and republicans refused to call him out for it.

He has ignored all of the laws, traditions, and norms for presidents, and his supporters won't call him out on it. Why shouldn't he keep doing whatever he wants?

I wish that were true because it would show that the president is capable of planning something and following through with that plan. THat would be so much more palpable than someone who is incompetent, ignorant, and so narcissitic that he thinks that he alone can fix any problem without listening to any advice....and who acts based on his emotions at the moment.
