I really dislike that he came out and said it like this (same with the black female Supreme Court nominee). All this does is give fuel to the anti-identity politics people, while scoring only limited points with anyone else (the same points he would have scored by announcing a female running mate anyway). He should have just announced his running mate (who happened to be a woman) as the best choice for the job. It's an insult to the eventual choice that she will instead be the best female choice for the job.

Having said that, I've thought for several weeks now that personally I would love to see Kamala Harris as his running mate. I think she offsets a large number of his many negatives in a very needed way.
Done with playing defense - could care less what anti-identity people think - I doubt their votes are much in play anyway

Plus it seems like a smart move - the announcement is really Twitter’s main (sometimes only) reaction to the debate

And I don’t think there’s enough separation between Biden and Harris- he needs someone further left - Stacey Abrams seems to check the most boxes

Curious, what negatives do you think needed to be offset? Or how would she offset them?

I have a feeling it is going to be Warren.

I don't know what Warren is supposed to bring to the table.

She came in third in her home state.

I agree, but she's got her message out there and even though she didn't perform well as a presidential candidate, I'd be willing to bet she'd poll very well as a choice for VP.
There is also the temptation that Warren v Pence would be even more brutal than Bentsen v Quayle

Tons of goobers on twitter think she's going to get primaried. I can't see it happening./
    *poke*
I'm really dumbfounded with this woman. I'm happy she's being primaried this year. If the moderates show up in that district like they should have two years ago, she might be a one-term congresswoman.

I do too....but I think Kamala Harris is the better choice....

I think the reason Harris had a hard time getting any real traction in the black community is because the black community looks at her as one who locked them up.

I personally like her but I don't see how she could help any Joe has the black vote.

I can't remember her name but that gov that gave the state of the union response is in the mix for sure.
