Yeah, I think he’s going to wait until after the election. He has little risk at that point.

The DOJ attorney on the case filed the revised paper and then resigned! Note - it almost certainly means resignation was his choice, it's very difficult to force resignation on federal career staff (as opposed to political appointees).

At this point, they really don't care because they see that the cowards with an (R) behind their name in the senate will not allow anyone to be held accountable. DOJ has been fully compromised and it appears that there is nothing that we can do to stop it.

Okay, so he only resigned from the Special Counsel team. That makes more sense.

How can people who claim to support law and order rationalize supporting a president who has such a problem with law enforcement?

People who think Roger Stone should go free but Joe Biden should be locked up are what is wrong with this country. They are low information voters.

So the revised sentencing memo from DOJ is causing quite a reaction from legal observers. It’s almost as if DOJ is now arguing against the case it prosecuted.

I disagree on both accounts. The people who are what is wrong with this country is the people who don't vote for whatever reason. Voting should be one of those things that people do everything in their power to get it done. The people in power count on this. They take precautionary measures by putting structures in place to prevent or discourage those people from voting. Poor people outnumber everyone else in this country and if they decided to devote all their energies to voting, they could control who gets elected, especially at the local level.

Now the people that you mention as what is wrong with this country are not without blame. However, they re not low information voters. They have all the information they need. They KNOW what they are doing. Everything that is happening is happening because they WANT it to happen exactly how it's happening. Left to them, anyone not supporting trump would be in prison right now.

Barr knows Trump will blame him If he has to pardon Stone and suffers any political blowback. So he’s just trying to head it off.

He fears Trump more than he fears history.

You’re right that apathy is a big part of our problem.

But the people supporting Trump don’t believe in the concept of Liberty. They prefer a dictatorship that does what they want. Then they can all be little dictators. They seem to not realize that just because the dictator is telling people to do what they want, doesn’t mean that they will still have to do what he says when they don’t like it.
