Everything I've seen and heard says that the split second Donald Trump is no longer president there will be flood of charges waiting for him

And if he resigns and Pence pardons him there are a ton of state charges as an understudy waiting in the wings if the fed charges can't perform

What do you think the likelihood of there being a jail sentence?

    In every movie and TV show I've ever seen, in every political thriller I've ever read about a criminal and corrupt president there is ALWAYS some version of;

"We can't do that to the country",

"A trial would tear the country apart",

"For the nation to heal we need to move on" etc.

    Would life imitate art?

Even with the charges, even with the proof the charges are true will the powers that be decide, "we can't do that to the country"?

Trump isn’t going to get pre-trial detention.

I’m also wondering if one jurisdiction goes ahead with charges, will that make it more or less likely in others (i.e. Georgia).

Could they have been coordinating timing behind the scenes, or would that not be legal?

It seems like there might be a benefit to all announcing their charging decisions close together, and it seems like many of these cases are at points where charges could come at any time.

I don’t think it’s illegal - I think sometimes separate investigations coordinate for various reasons due to overlap. But I didn’t think they’d be coordinating unless there’s a specific overlap in the scope of the investigation. Doesn’t seem to be here.

    Tuesday...

Trump claiming illegal leaks. Likely they informed him of it, and he leaked it so he could accuse the DA of leaking it. It's his standard playbook.
And calling for protest, which I'm sure he means violent protest.

Former president Donald Trump called for protests Saturday in response to what he claimed would be his imminent arrest in a Manhattan criminal investigation, even as his advisers said Trump’s team does not have specific knowledge about the timing of an indictment.

Writing from his Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida, Trump surprised his advisers by posting an all-caps message on his Truth Social platform on Saturday morning that declared he “WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!”

His language echoed rhetoric that he used in advance of the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, by his supporters.
Trump’s advisers and lawyers have expected for days that he will be indicted in the New York case, which hinges on a $130,000 payment to an adult-film star.

But Trump spokesman Steven Cheung said Saturday morning there had been no “notification” of an indictment and said Trump’s supporters should attend a rally he is holding next week in Texas for his 2024 reelection……..

As far as I can tell, Trump is the person who originally said he was being arrested Tuesday, now he’s saying there are leaks? Lol. What a moron!

He’s so damn pitiful- bless his heart. They’re going to “investigate” to make sure NY isn’t using federal funds to indict Trump? I’d imagine the DA is quaking in his boots over that. 🤡

No, he’ll pay a $50 fine for jaywalking and be on his way. This will send the libs off on a TDS induced rage for the next 1 1/2 years that the Trumpsta will play off of them into the whitehouse

Then why all the commotion? If it's basically jaywalking, or even the white-collar equivalent, why is Trump calling for his followers to "take the country back" and talking of politically-weaponized prosecution as the injustice of the century? Low-level crimes are usually pretty easy to determine, and the penalties are light.

Are you saying he didn't do it? Or are you saying he should't have to face such charges?

He knows exactly what he’s doing and will use this to play the liberals. He’s been playing them for over six years and knows exactly what he’s doing.
I do t know what he did or if he did anything at all. Libs keep on accusing him of things (Russia Russia Russia) but nothing ever come thru for the poor libs..
Should he face charges? Sure absolutely, give him his jaywalking ticket, let him pay the $50. And be done with it. The libs will have their victory ( ha ha ha) and he will be re energized and even more powerful then the libs worst nightmare

Okay, so it sounds like you agree that if there's legit charges against him, he should face charges. I think that's all reasonable people can ask - if there's a case there, then he should face it. The rest of it will just have to play out. I think there's at least a 50/50 chance he faces charges in Georgia and probably about the same on federal charges relating to the way he handled the records issue.

If there's charges, he should face them. This whole thing that he shouldn't be charged is crazy.

Making fun of “libs” by posting that pic is ironically what he is doing right now. A snow flake making fun of snow flakes.
Plus we all know the republicans who agree with it are just rhinos.

And the Russian Russian thing is a lot similar to Hunter laptop and Hillary’s emails. Y’all were crying like that waaay before any “libs” were

Welp, if, say, Obama, paid off a porn star on the eve of an election in order to keep said porn star quiet you would be having a schlitz-fit about it screaming for him to be arrested.

For someone who doesn’t really know anything, you sure sound confident about how this is going to play out.

If you don’t know if he did something or not, why would you predict he just gets off with a jaywalking ticket? If he did “do something” worthy of a more severe punishment, do you believe it would be a miscarriage of justice to just give him that jaywalking ticket?

Surely you believe that if he committed any crimes that he should serve the recommended sentence for them, correct?
