Didn't really see a place for this so I thought I would start a thread about all things LGBTQ since this is a pretty hot topic in our culture right now

The Supreme Court on Thursday delivered a unanimous defeat to LGBT couples in a high-profile case over whether Philadelphia could refuse to contract with a Roman Catholic adoption agency that says its religious beliefs prevent it from working with same-sex foster parents.
Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in an opinion for a majority of the court that Philadelphia violated the First Amendment by refusing to contract with Catholic Social Services once it learned that the organization would not certify same-sex couples for adoption.

I will admit, I was hopeful for this decision by the SCOTUS but I was surprised by the unanimous decision.

While I don't think there is anything wrong, per se, with same sex couples adopting and raising children (I actually think it is a good thing as it not an abortion) but I also did not want to see the state force a religious institution to bend to a societal norm.

LOL, call it removal, reconstruction or whatever. You are still doing it to a healthy child. Are we also prepared to do that for the transable? If not, why not? What is different between a person that identifies as the opposite of abled bodied? Do you think there is a difference between the 2?

Gender dysphoria is a medical condition, so no, it's not being done to healthy children. It's being done to treat a medical diagnosis.

What you are calling child abuse is being done by doctors and parents who are desperate to help a young person experiencing symptoms that indicate gender dysmorphia. Do you suppose that they are just doing it for shirts and grins? No, they realize how deeply bothered the young person is, that they are at high risk for suicide, and they are trying to help.

What if you decided that your troubled child would benefit from the discipline of a high-intensity wilderness camp? Would you want the government interfering with your decision? I’m sure you wouldn’t want anyone telling you that you couldn’t make that decision. Even though sometimes these camps are dangerous and children have died. And I’m sure you would look into it carefully and try to make the best possible decision for your child.

Why do the parents of these children deserve less latitude than what you would want?

Having made the brave decision to tell his mother that he was gay, Chad was cruelly rejected by her, and called an 'abomination' and 'against nature', reports Bored Panda.

In the incredible letter, he wrote: "Dear Christine: I’m disappointed in you as a daughter. You’re correct that we have shame in the family, but mistaken about what it is."

He wrote: "Kicking Chad out of your home simply because he told you he was gay is the real ‘abomination’ here. A parent disowning her child is what goes ‘against nature’.

The only intelligent thing I heard you saying in all this was that ‘you didn’t raise your son to be gay’. Of course you didn’t. He was born this way and didn’t choose it any more than he being left-handed.

"You, however, have made the choice of being hurtful, narrow-minded and backward. So, while we are in the business of disowning our children, I think I’ll take this moment to say goodbye to you. I now have a fabulous (as the gay put it) grandson to raise and I don’t have time for heartless B-word of a daughter. If you find your heart, give us a call."………

So you are onboard with removing a leg for a diagnosed transable person? You have to be or you simply don't believe the science.

Are the breast unhealthy? Are they causing the the mental order? When do we treat a mental disorder by altering the body of healthy limbs and or organs? Is that what the 'science' is saying now?

Just be aware, you are agreeing to cutting off breast of a child to treat a mental disorder. You obviously have not done much research on this other than reading article put out by the 'science' and you take that at face value. How do I know that?

You first position was that it was not happening. Who told you that it was not happening? You should really look into that source.

Then when it was proved it was happening, your stance changed that it was helping mental unstable patients when before, you argued that the transmovment is not built on mental illness. Who told you that? You might want to think about that source from a critical stance as it has made you believe what is obviously not true. How obvious, obvious enough where you just admitted it in your reply.

You are constantly telling me I am manipulated by silliness and brain washed by hate mongers. And yet you flip your position more than a fish out of water but all the while calling me manipulated and brainwashed. I know you don't see the irony and hypocrisy that is on full display but I do.

How did that become public? Why would someone put their family problems out for the world to see? I am going with this did not happen or the grandpa was in much need of social media pats on the back and he/she probably lives with someone that does not like the parents of the gay kid.

Not for shirts and grins. They are done for money. A lot of money. The parents get the virtue signal to their friends (please don't make the naïve assumption that parents don't do this, we all know they do) and the doctors make a lot of money. Also, big pharma makes a lot of money.

You just make up your own reality. Suicide rates are easy to look up, have at it. You don’t know anything about the suicide rates or whether they have been dropping among kids and teens that are treated or not, but you have your own assumptions already made.

What you are saying is that you think both the parents and doctors are all Mengele-style monsters. True psychopaths. And they are all conspiring to hurt their patients and their own children. It must be awful to always assume this type of sick stuff. It can’t make you happy, can it?

DeQuincy, LA (KPLC) - A couple’s story went viral after they shared on social media that their daughter’s school told them she could no longer attend because they are in a same-sex marriage.

Monday was supposed to be Zoey’s first day of kindergarten at Bible Baptist Academy, but Jennifer and Emily Parker said they were told by school officials last week that she would not be able to attend.

“We got called into the principal’s office for a meeting, they informed us that Zoey wouldn’t be able to go to school there anymore because of our lifestyle choices,” Jennifer Parker said.

Jennifer Parker and Emily Parker are in a same-sex marriage. They adopted Zoe, Jennifer’s 5-year-old niece, after the girl’s father was in an industrial accident in 2020.

“She lost her father, she lost her mother and now she’s losing her school which she loves very much,” Jennifer Parker said.

Zoey, who attended Bible Baptist Academy for Pre-K, was officially adopted by her aunt last week.

However, once word got around of her new family, things changed.

“On the 3rd (of August), we adopted her and we went to open house, we got the uniforms we got the fees,” Emily Parker said. The school’s principal and pastor broke the news to them over the weekend.

“The pastor met us in the meeting room and started talking about gender identification and that they teach the words of the Lord and marriage was between a man and a women,” Emily Parker said. “They didn’t think this was a good fit.”

Bible Baptist Academy said in a statement that the school is “committed to instructing and living in accordance with the teachings of Scripture.”

They say that’s what they strive to teach students who attend.

“This should not be interpreted that we have any hatred or malice toward them. We are just as committed to loving all people as we are to holding to Bible principles that people may not agree with or may not understand.”.............

Do you consider your 'group' the 'gays' all the same? All of my gay friends don't want to discuss their sex life to kids either, and 2 are teachers and another is a councilor.

Or are you saying there are not gays that are anti-straight? There are. Every 'group' that identity politics forces you into, they have also forced the bad apples of that group into your group. Enjoy. Just like I get to enjoy being grouped with racist, homophobic and bigoted white right wingers.
That is the main problem with identity politics. A necessary evil if the Dems are to win again though.
