Didn't really see a place for this so I thought I would start a thread about all things LGBTQ since this is a pretty hot topic in our culture right now

    https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/17/sup...y-that-refuses-to-work-with-lgbt-couples.html

    • The Supreme Court on Thursday delivered a unanimous defeat to LGBT couples in a high-profile case over whether Philadelphia could refuse to contract with a Roman Catholic adoption agency that says its religious beliefs prevent it from working with same-sex foster parents.
    • Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in an opinion for a majority of the court that Philadelphia violated the First Amendment by refusing to contract with Catholic Social Services once it learned that the organization would not certify same-sex couples for adoption.

I will admit, I was hopeful for this decision by the SCOTUS but I was surprised by the unanimous decision.

While I don't think there is anything wrong, per se, with same sex couples adopting and raising children (I actually think it is a good thing as it not an abortion) but I also did not want to see the state force a religious institution to bend to a societal norm.

The Biden administration wants to restore protections for LGBT Americans that fell under the Trump administration — and to take them a step further.

A new proposal from the federal health department would prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity among health-care providers that receive federal dollars. It also aims to cover pregnant women seeking health-care services, including abortions, Dan Diamond and I report. The language would allow people to file claims with the Health and Human Services Office of Civil Rights if they believed they had faced discrimination from a health-care provider based on their sexual orientation, gender identity or pregnancy

But this likely isn’t the end of the battle over such language. Top Biden health officials, as well as experts, say they’re bracing for legal challenges over the proposed rule, which has previously been enmeshed in court battles. Opponents are likely to challenge the rule, arguing it’s an overreach and an inaccurate interpretation of the law.

The plan comes at an inflection point for such protections, as gender-related care and other services have increasingly become the target of state legislative battles and litigation across the country. Some who reviewed the rule say they’re still trying to unpack how it could intersect with state laws across the country.

“In terms of the federal purview, it really helps to provide a blanket protection for people based on their sexual orientation and gender identity,” said Jen Kates, a senior vice president at the Kaiser Family Foundation. “Will it be challenged in court? Probably.”.........

You know the policy on assertions.

John William Money (8 July 1921 – 7 July 2006) was a New Zealand psychologist, sexologist and author known for his research into sexual identity and biology of gender. He was one of the first researchers to publish theories on the influence of societal constructs of gender on individual formation of gender identity. Money introduced the terms gender identity, gender role and sexual orientation and popularised the term paraphilia.[1][2]

Working with endocrinologist Claude Migeon, Money established the Johns Hopkins Gender Identity Clinic, the first clinic in the United States to perform sexual reassignment surgeries on both infants and adults.[3] He spent a considerable amount of his career in the United States.

A 1997 academic study criticised Money's work in many respects, particularly in regard to the involuntary sex-reassignment of the child David Reimer.[4] Reimer committed suicide at 38 and his brother died of an overdose at 36. Some of Money's therapy sessions involved sexual activity between the two brothers.

Money's writing has been translated into many languages and includes around 2,000 articles, books, chapters and reviews. He received around 65 honours, awards and degrees in his lifetime.[1] He was also a patron of many famous New Zealand artists, such as Rita Angus and Theo Schoon.

exactly why this administration is laughing stock around the world right now. This administration has proven that it cannot walk and chew gum at the same time, so they continue to focus on the trans movement.

Welp, Republicans made us the laughingstock of the world by nominating, electing and backing an incompetent, brainless, arrogant, ignorant, vile, stupid moron as president. Biden may be disliked and laughed at by RW authoritarians but the rest of the world doesn’t laugh at him.

Of course we do laugh at you.

Seems pro-pedophilia is a requirement to be a Republican.

Again, no one is performing sexual reassignment surgeries on infants. From the Johns Hopkins Children's Center:

Sure sounds like they botched his sex reassignment surgery, doesn't it? You were, unsurprisingly fooled by a misleading source.

They botched a routine circumcision and decided that since his penis was already jacked up, that they should use him as an experimental project and raise him female.

Which, oh by the way, didn't work because his gender identity (in his brain) had nothing to forking do with his botched penis, so he still believed he was a male and raising him as a female caused him mental stress, which yea, possibly caused him to commit suicide.

This argues strongly for the point that if someone feels like a certain gender, then forcing them to be the other gender is likely to cause them severe stress.

So yea, Money was a tool, but that has nothing to do with anything we're talking about here.

Right. Here is Adm. Rachel Levine and a member of the Engery Dept. Even France is wondering what the heck....

I haven't seen any world leaders literally laughing at our president to his face.

I've only see that happen to one president.

The most important aspect of this whole mass psychoses.

And, if you look through her neck beard hair, I think you can make out an adams apple so he appears to be a male.

How should they describe someone who looks like Caitlyn Jenner if the police were looking for her? as male or female?

did we? Can you prove this is a biological female with a beard problem?
Can you prove it’s not? Seems to me you would just let it be and assume the police knew the way they needed to describe this person, rather than getting all emotional about what they said. Like it affected your life in any way other than your feelings which were evidently hurt by it.

Every single time one of his stories gets debunked he just ignores the truth and pivots to a new one. It’s ridiculous.
