This election nonsense by Trump may end up splitting up the Republican Party. I just don’t see how the one third (?) who are principled conservatives can stay in the same party with Trump sycophants who are willing to sign onto the TX Supreme Court case.

We also saw the alt right types chanting “destroy the GOP” in Washington today because they didn’t keep Trump in power. I think the Q types will also hold the same ill will toward the traditional Republican Party. In fact its quite possible that all the voters who are really in a Trump personality cult will also blame the GOP for his loss. It’s only a matter of time IMO before Trump himself gets around to blaming the GOP.

There is some discussion of this on Twitter. What do you all think?

not sure what thread this goes to

But I'm afraid this is the new normal - dispute every loss
    ==================================

    The election wasn't even close.

Last month, Natalie Adona won her race to become the clerk-recorder and registrar of voters in rural Nevada County with 68% of the vote — nearly 15,000 votes ahead of the man who came in second place.

But despite Adona's landslide victory, the race will be the subject of a potentially lengthy hand recount.

It is expected to take 38 days, cost more than $82,700, and require the hiring of temporary workers to count nearly 38,000 ballots.

And it is being funded by Randy Economy, a leader of the unsuccessful Republican-backed effort to recall Gov. Gavin Newsom last year.

Economy spoke vaguely about his motivations, saying "something doesn't smell right" about the county registrar's race.

"We have a crisis here in this state of who's in charge of democracy, and it ain't the county clerks, and it's not the local city clerks. It's the people," Economy said.

Economy was a spokesman and advisor for the campaign to recall Newsom. The special statewide election last September, in which voters overwhelmingly chose to keep Newsom in office, cost state and local governments more than $200 million.

In Nevada County, the involvement of Economy — a conservative radio host who lives nine hours south in the Coachella Valley — has baffled local officials, who say the recount is a waste of time and resources and is nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to sow doubt in the elections process..........

    So stupid.

Whatever. President Biden is doing a terrible job and the Republicans will roll all over the Democrats in the 2022 midterms. I will remind the readers two things I stated earlier: 1) President Trump did NOT receive my vote in the primaries that led up to his ultimate nomination. 2) President Trump is NOT my desired candidate for 2024. If you are looking to engage someone with whom you can discuss Trump...look somewhere else. I am not his fan and not desiring to defend him. He is annoying....but....Biden is worse than annoying. He is destroying the economy....he embarrassed us in Afganistan....people were left behind there. He promised Covid relief . That was unrealistic of him and that is not working out. America was self sufficient in oil/gasoline and now we are dependent on Arabs. These are just the things I can think of now but I am sure there are other horrible things he has done to this country that at I left out. The independents that voted Democratic in 2020 are going to vote Republican in 2022. Biden is a loser!
I've always known it would happen.
Biden is done.... Check out (above) what I posted last Jan. 8th.

Primarily either exaggerated or outright BS.

    For example, COVID relief:

    For example, energy import/export:

You are right. It was unrealistic of him because he had to try to fight through all the lies that were told by Trump and supported by Republicans. It was an uphill battle to combat both of those diseases.

You're repeating something you've heard but don't understand.

Nothing you have pointed out was remotely correct. I'm sure that won't stop you from making up a few things or spouting off about something you believe to be true rather than things you can actually prove to be true using....you know.....facts. Or maybe you don't know.
The independents that voted Democratic in 2020 are going to vote Republican in 2022.
The independents that voted for Democrats in 2020 will recruit more independents and vote for Democrats again in 2022 because Republicans continue to want crazy people to have the right to own weapons that make it easier to kill school children and Republicans are hell-bent on turning America into a Christian-style sharia law country.

@SteveSBrickNJ you want us to believe that you are a different type of Republican because you say all the things you think folks want to hear with respect to the election and trump. You think Biden won fair and square. Big woop, there are no prizes for the obvious. You've grown annoyed by trump; yet you have no problem supporting the very people who allowed him to do all of what he did to this country in 4 short years. The ends justifying the means bothers you in the least because, well, you got everything that you wanted out of trump and to hell with what anyone else had to suffer through. So now that trump is "annoying", it's convenient for you to toss him aside.
You see, that makes you worst that the true MAGA sociopaths and other gullible republicans. You know/knew better but still you went along. The Republican party is a danger to US and the constitution. The republican party supported an insurrection against the US and they fought vehemently against holding the person responsible for the insurrection accountable. They knowing acquitted a guilty person.

Biden might be a loser but he's 10 times better than anything the Republican party can offer.

Last sentence is not even close to being correct.

One more very important thing. Trump is an enemy of the state who tried to pull off a coup. That is clearly far worse than annoying.

I'm sure this has probably been brought up in here before but I bring it up because it makes me very nervous.

I'm 78 and a disabled veteran consequently I need help now and then doing some day-to-day chores. I have two Hispanic women, both in their mid 50s, both married, that help me after they're through with their daily jobs. Both are from Guatemala originally and both have been working for me for a long time.

To the point. If you come from a place like Guatemala it's very easy to understand why you might lean a little right. You came here to escape a lack of law and order (and a job), the right represents that, law and order, here, rightly or wrongly, and Hispanics know that. The finer points of just how dangerous someone like Trump is escapes them a bit because they don't understand what this republic really is and what it takes to stay a united republic.

That’s not incredibly surprising. Los Latinos are based in Catholic values from birth, their leaning towards the party of family values (we can all laugh about that now) isn’t surprising. Is it?

This doesn’t help the Democrats problem with gaining the Hispanic vote.

The only thing that could have made this worse is if she said “The LatinX community is as unique as tacos.”

It's what happens when you're unable to show a constituency that you've actually accomplished something on their behalf.

Which party are we talking about here, because this is the meme showing the two Spider-Man’s pointing at each other.

Republicans representing "family values", lol. That's really funny.

I'm not saying your analysis isn't partly correct, it's just the same bs as always. And it has a lot to do with media and gaslighting. Same thing goes for Hispanics turning to Republicans for safety and security. Ask those families in Uvalde, Texas how safe and secure they feel with all of their Republican representation and conservative values. All those guns on the street definitely make things safer and more secure. Thanks Republicans!!!

Well, neither of the ladies that work for me are Catholic but they both have strong ties to their church.
