Didn't really see a place for this so I thought I would start a thread about all things LGBTQ since this is a pretty hot topic in our culture right now

    https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/17/sup...y-that-refuses-to-work-with-lgbt-couples.html

    • The Supreme Court on Thursday delivered a unanimous defeat to LGBT couples in a high-profile case over whether Philadelphia could refuse to contract with a Roman Catholic adoption agency that says its religious beliefs prevent it from working with same-sex foster parents.
    • Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in an opinion for a majority of the court that Philadelphia violated the First Amendment by refusing to contract with Catholic Social Services once it learned that the organization would not certify same-sex couples for adoption.

I will admit, I was hopeful for this decision by the SCOTUS but I was surprised by the unanimous decision.

While I don't think there is anything wrong, per se, with same sex couples adopting and raising children (I actually think it is a good thing as it not an abortion) but I also did not want to see the state force a religious institution to bend to a societal norm.

Why is so important to teach 5 year olds about gender theory? It is just creepy and gross. Any elementary teacher that feels the need to teach or discuss sexual topics with their students should not be teaching and should be monitored.

That's what you got from that?

What should the 5 year olds who have 2 moms or 2 dads be allowed to say about their parents?

What should the gay teachers say about their spouses when asked?

Can the gay teachers bring their spouses to school activities? (plays, band recitals, graduations)

There’s that authoritarian stuff again. Yes, by all means let’s “monitor” teachers who dare to answer questions from kids in an open and forthright manner. 🤦‍♀️

    It is reality not bigotry.
What about those kids that work hard to compete and get blown out by a biological male. What is she supposed to think? "well, that sucked but at least Tommy got to live his truth by beating my arse in the race." Is that also bigotry? Just curious.

Why do these 'trans-kids' get to destroy sports for all the other kids? And, I think 'trans-kids' need medical help, not to be enabling. There are a lot of kids that don't get to play sports. Should be change the game for allow for running backs to use motorized wheel chairs in college football so everyone gets to play?

Again, decisions that affect everyone should not be made based on 'feelings' and emotion.

    I was not aware
It is bigotry. You have football games with kids that have developed much quicker than the rest of the kids around them, standing heads and shoulders above their competitors. These smaller kids are "blown out" by the biologically quicker developed player (you can do a YouTube search to see the results). Yet, I don't see you or the Republicans running out there to pass laws to prevent these man-childs from playing in sports, even though they are much more likely to cause injury to the other kids. Honestly, most of the people who want to exclude trans kids probably get excited watching the early developed children destroy their competitors. So your claim that it isn't bigotry is pure garbage. This isn't about fair competition. It is about small-minded people that cannot empathize outside their tiny box they live in using "fairness" to hide their bigotry behind.

You said sports are important for children's development. Then you turn around and exclude kids that are different. Hypocrisy, thy name is Farb.

These laws are aimed at children, right? The laws that are being passed so gleefully in R states?

I don’t think anyone has denied that there could be issues in some cases where we have adults who have clearly gone through puberty and then transitioned. But if what V Chip found is correct, after two years of hormone therapy the physical advantage is lost. I don’t see why we have to pass laws concerning banning elementary school children from participating in casual sports. Or why we cannot allow individual cases to be dealt with in a common sense manner.

Imagine the same people in the pictures at 10-15 years old. Do you think they were anything closer to being the same size?

Looking at the pictures, does it look to you that the physical advantage was lost after hormone therapy?

We have a lot of laws concerning elementary school children that ban many things. Why aren't those problematic?

I thought we were talking about competitive sports, not what kids play during recess.

The reason why we cannot deal with individual cases in a common sense manner is because there is no common sense within the sides. And yes, "both sides!!!!" apply here. I have posted similar pictures in different places and I have yet to hear from the usual suspects, even after asking directly, if what they see in those images looks like fair play to them, which is a simple yes or no answer, and they cannot even admit that what they see in those images is unfair play, rather telling me of studies and how evil the people who are enacting transphobic laws are, like you just did. Others simply call me transphobic.

I can tell you that what I see in those pictures not only is not fair play, but it puts females people born with ovaries and uteri at risk of serious bodily injury. If that wins me the transphobic label, so be it.

How about you? Do you see fair play in those pictures? Do you not see the physical risk?

We don’t know (or rather I don’t know) anything about that individual. Have they had hormone therapy? For how long?

And these bans will stigmatize grade schoolers - as a group - which is simply a horrible policy. It is being done out of bigotry. It’s really that simple. At the age of 10, you wouldn’t see the same differences you see as an adult.

    That's not fair either.

I saw your post replying to Farb. You are correct in that we don't see the "Republicans running out there to pass laws to prevent these man-childs from playing in sports, even though they are much more likely to cause injury to the other kids" .

Then again, you don't see Democrats running to pass laws to prevent it either.

And, if those big persons in your pictures were transgender, not only will they not run to pass laws against it, they'd be defending their rights to play sports and trample on the little persons.

    I rest my case.

You can't even admit that what you are seeing is unfair.

Why is it creepy and gross?

5 year old s need to know enough about sex that they can tell when they are being abused.
That is a parents job, not a government employee.

Nice attempt at a dodge. I'm not letting you off the hook.

The Democrats aren't passing laws to prevent the trans kids from playing. The Republicans are. They are the ones that are claiming they are doing this for fairness and to prevent injury. It is complete garbage. They are doing it because they are transphobic and bigots. There are many more "man-childs" out there than trans-kids playing sports. Yet there is no call to stop the unfair competitive advantage in those instances. If you support the trans-kids ban, but have not contacted your congressperson about stopping the man-children, then you at best, a hypocrite. If you can't acknowledge your hypocrisy, then you are probably a bigot.

You claim this is for safety but have ignored safety concerns staring you in the face for years. So is it about safety or is it to keep the different kids from playing? You know the answer. I don't do this to be mean, but because I think you are better than this. You are being manipulated and used by lesser people for their own political gain. Ask yourself, what do you actually gain from the trans-kids sports laws personally? Even if these laws pass, and trans-kids don't play sports, is the US or your state any better off? Our infrastructure is falling apart in this country, yet these laws are at the top of the list for lawmakers. This isn't for your benefit or for the benefit of the state. It is to make you scared so that you keep voting for these bunch of do-nothings. You are getting played, and you should be damn angry about it.

See, you are getting better at attacking me! Proud of you. Yes, I am a bigot, you have already said that. I get it.

Now, on to the actual discussion.

You see no problem with the Lia Thomas story and his domination of swimming against females? Why? Because it make him feel complete? So I ask, what about the girls that work and train to win, their feelings don't count as much as his? Why?

If only that is all we are talking about.

So you believe the sex offender registry is 'authoritarian'? How about probation?

While I think SystemShock is better than his support for the trans-kids laws, you are not. It is totally on brand for you.

Bigot playbook 101 is to act like a bigot and then play victim when someone actually calls you out on it. Don't like people thinking you are a bigot, then stop acting like one.

Why can't they? They can even say the word 'gay' despite what the narrative is. Probably not a good idea to plan lesson plans around gender theory though, especially at that age. Would you not agree?

Thank you but I thought I was a hypocrite?

I will say this for the last time, I only care what a very few people think of me. There are none on this board, so I don't care if you think or anyone else thinks I am a 'bigot'.

You don't care, but you have to keep making the same response over and over?

    Seems like you actually care.

Lol. If you do not care what people think of you and your opinions, why are you here posting them?
