This election nonsense by Trump may end up splitting up the Republican Party. I just don’t see how the one third (?) who are principled conservatives can stay in the same party with Trump sycophants who are willing to sign onto the TX Supreme Court case.

We also saw the alt right types chanting “destroy the GOP” in Washington today because they didn’t keep Trump in power. I think the Q types will also hold the same ill will toward the traditional Republican Party. In fact its quite possible that all the voters who are really in a Trump personality cult will also blame the GOP for his loss. It’s only a matter of time IMO before Trump himself gets around to blaming the GOP.

There is some discussion of this on Twitter. What do you all think?

And I do realize it’s her right to have that weapon, but honestly, what is her message here? She doesn’t look approachable and friendly. She looks vaguely hostile. She’s not dressed for the shooting range, she‘s dressed for the office with a deadly weapon. It’s stupid. Almost as stupid as the way Boebert straps a pistol to her thigh like she’s cosplaying a Wild West character.
I'm just never going to understand being so afraid of the world you have to be armed 24/7

What is it about Rs and gun fetishes? This is a ridiculous look, IMO.

No different than college woke kids wearing this T shirt.

To you, I suppose. But that t-shirt is definitely not the same as posing with a deadly weapon with a stern look. College kids wear stuff just to be ironic.

Posing with weapons as an adult, well, that says something entirely different, IMO.

To me she looks deeply uncomfortable. Not to mention how she's holding it.

Her face is like "Are you sure there's no cops around? 'Cause if they see me like this, they'll hafta scrape me off the street with a stick and a spoon."

I do not necessarily disagree with your judging. However, it is quite possible she is just pandering to voters that are worried about losing their rights to have a firearm. I suspect she has never fired a weapon.

In other words she is pandering to voters. Dems do it too. BTW, McAuliffe lost the election because he pandered too much to his base and misunderstood the schools issue. Too much pandering can turn voters off. Who knows how many votes she lost because of that photo.

Seriously? Republicans have been telling me that Democrats are going to take everyone's guns away for as long as I've been alive yet everyone is still armed to the teeth. Now more than ever.

Hey remember that legislation that was presented that would take guns away?

...oh wait

Dude, don't you know that back when the Bill of Rights was created, the founding fathers looked at their muskets and wrote the second amendment with the intention that ordinary citizens should have the right to own weapons that were created as weapons of war specifically for the military so that stupid teenagers can shoot up a toddler's birthday party to settle a score over some money or rumors being spread and maim or kill the entire gathering of people by firing more rounds than there are people while shooting blind out the window of a car creeping past the party's location? There is no reason Bill Smith shouldn't be able to buy RPG's, easily modified semi-auto rifles with extended clips (needed to kill more deer when hunting), or even tanks and biological or nuclear weapons created to wipe out entire populations of earthlings if he has a desire to own them because he has a 2nd amendment right to bear arms.

Yea, the pro second amendment folks love to say "What part of 'Shall not be infringed' do you not understand?", then look at you like you're crazy when you bring up the regulation of nuclear weapons.

They like to conveniently skip over the "well-regulated militia" part which would make like 95% of gun owners ineligible to own guns since we now have the world's most powerful military and no longer support domestic militias.

Yes, every time Dems make a threat gun sales go through the roof.
Every time there is a mass shooting, gun sales go through the roof too.

Maybe the problem is the people who are so easily manipulated into buying guns.

Some Reps. also believe that liberal, progressive Democrats and have always believed they support a gradualist, piecemeal approach to ebb away at the 2nd Amendment and gun rights, in general and enact strict, gun control EU-styled laws which werent originally designed to protect public safety, and peace of minds of Europeans from guns but for despotic, European tyrants and dictators to prevent successful uprisings, or religious unrest(see the 1524 German Peasants Revolt), or 19th-century British and European working-class militarism and industrial unrest. Why do you think orthodox Marxism became so popular with generations of left-wing intellectuals, socialists, politicians, union organizers and leaders from the mid-19th century onwards? Quite a substantial amount of current laws, even some "dead laws", on the books in many European countries that limit or prohibit rights of socialist, left-leaning politicians, intellectuals, special interest groups, or leftist trade union labor leaders that were passed, or pushed by semi-autocratic, authoritian regimes, less-than-democratic " republics" in the mid-late 19th century, including even "gun control" laws.

Ive talked and argued with progressive Dems who believe the 2nd Amendment is a stupid, outdated amendment and support extremely strict, rigid gun-control laws existing in Europe. In UK, MI5 or local Metro police departments don't even forking need a warrant or probable cause to search your home for items as dangerous as steak knives, or sharp letter-openers.

CRT is just the latest boogieman from the right. It was at one point about migrant caravans, and transgender bathrooms. The topic doesn't matter, only the sectarian conflict that results. The pot must constantly be stirred.

Anyone who brings up CRT as a serious topic is outing themselves as someone who listens to the conservative outrage machine. The same people are always quick to tell us. They are registered independent, and open-minded free thinkers.
Yup, add to the long line of conservative boogiemen.

Hillary Clinton sometimes could be her own worst enemy and occasionally did make statements, or comments that were suspect, or detrimental to her winning over skeptical independents. There's always been this sense of controversy around her. When Obama ran for DNC nomination in 2008 (and eventually won the presidency), I talked to some of his supporters who said she struck them as a smarter, calculating left-wing version of Bush 43. Its no secret there was a significant, discernable amount of tension between the Obama and Clinton campaigns during that 2008 DNC runs.

I sometimes got the impression that while Obama trusted and believed in Hillary's vast experience, determination, tenacity in handling foreign policy issues. The successful raid on Osama bin Laden's compound in Abbottobad, that eliminated the al-Qaida founder/leader was largely due to her and Leon Panetta's painstaking, intelligence-gathering over several years, but I also suspected he didnt really trust her, on a personal level. He kept her at an official administrative arm's length, and part of me also suspects that Pres. Obama saw her privately, as a bit of "power-mongerer". It says a lot when I keep hearing, after many years, very liberal Dems tell me that Hillary Clinton was someone who scared the shirt out of them. Some of them were actually well-educated, professional, IT/tech-company managers, supervisors, or encryption specialists.
