I was looking for a place to put this so we could discuss but didn't really find a place that worked so I created this thread so we can all place articles, experiences, videos and examples of racism in the USA.

This is one that happened this week. The lady even called and filed a complaint on the officer. This officer also chose to wear the body cam (apparently, LA doesn't require this yet). This exchange wasn't necessarily racist IMO until she started with the "mexican racist...you will never be white, like you want" garbage. That is when it turned racist IMO

All the murderer and other insults, I think are just a by product of CRT and ACAB rhetoric that is very common on the radical left and sadly is being brought to mainstream in this country.

Another point that I think is worth mentioning is she is a teacher and the sense of entitlement she feels is mind blowing.

When I taught at UC Berkeley in the 1990s, it was an open secret that there was a two-tier undergraduate student body. Namely, black and Latino students tended to be considerably less prepared for the workload than white and Asian students.

No one talked about it openly, but plenty attested to it when they were sure the wall didn’t have ears, and to notice it was not racist – it was simple fact. Of course there were weak white and Asian students; of course there were excellent black and Latino students. But a tendency was unmistakable. It was painfully obvious that brown students were admitted according to very different standards than white and Asian ones.

Proposition 209 barred racial preferences of that kind in the UC system as of 1998, and of course, fewer brown students were admitted to the flagship schools Berkeley and UCLA after that. There were still plenty of brown students – the “resegregation” so many furiously predicted never happened. But not as many as before. And there has remained, for almost a quarter century now, a contingent who have never gotten over thinking UC would be better by going back to the way it was.

First there was the addition of a “hardship” bonus to the admissions procedure, with standards relaxed for applicants who could attest to having faced obstacles to achievement such as the death of a parent or serious illness. Formally this was supposed to apply to kids of all races. But immediately evaluators started weighting black and Latino hardship heavier than that suffered by white and Asian kids, as in rejecting an Asian applicant who had gone through the same kinds of hardship as a Latino one who was admitted.

I criticized this in the media, and will never forget when the suits assigned a kind, academically accomplished administrator to take me to lunch to “talk to me.” The poor man did his duty and … sat there lying to me. I genuinely felt sorry for him. But this showed how impenetrably committed to antiracism – or at least what they think is antiracism – these admissions officials are.

But even this kind of thing hasn’t been able to return Berkeley and UCLA to the good old days of having a “representative” number of brown students (apparently “representative” means in lockstep with their proportion of the state population). The problem is that pesky SAT, and at last, UC has gotten rid of it. The SAT will no longer be used to evaluate students for admission or even for scholarships.

... so, right off the bat, the spiel starts with ethnic stereotypes and basically describing how every racist joke starts, with no data to support it... good job.

    Swing and a miss.

You want him to provide data for a secret from when he taught at UC Berkeley? Do you think it’s a good idea to get rid of the SAT?

People have talked about getting rid of the SAT for a number of reasons for a long time. This isn't some new conversation. I also don't think they're the first school to do this, though I'm to lazy right now to go look.

Came across this article, this is the first I learned of such a thing

More than 200 cities, counties, local governments, public health and educational entities made such declarations since 2020, according to the American Public Health Association – up from just seven in 2019. (At least one city, Holyoke, Massachusetts, has rescinded its declaration.)

And the trend has continued as leaders in Chicago, Salt Lake City and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention made similar declarations.

Public health experts and local leaders heralded these declarations as important first steps in addressing the role racism plays in public health but warned that they required action. Although many of the declarations look similar, what steps communities took to address the systemic inequalities vary widely.

In Wisconsin, for example, Gov. Tony Evers called racism a public health crisis during a news conference last June, but he did not issue a formal declaration like Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer or Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak did.

Though Sisolak’s declaration did not include specific proposals, Whitmer’s executive order required implicit-bias training for all state employees and created an advisory council to examine problems affecting Black residents.

You're right. It's not exactly the same.

If we apply the same broad definition that has been used for the Capitol riot then the burning down of the Minneapolis Police Precinct then it was an insurrection too.

    I'm good with that.
They charged and sentenced i believe 4 people to prison and ordered $12 million in restitution for that crime.
I think its only appropriate that EVERY person that entered the capitol should be sentenced the same and have to pay restitution for all damages and for the cost of all personnel involved in taking back the capitol, do you agree?

I also suspect that many of the black people you think go to work, hang out with co-workers and have no issues…..have some issues.
I need for everyone to read this quote, re-read it and, for emphasis, read that birch a third time. Yall don't understand how much of a dime @Optimus Prime is dropping here.

The future Mrs. FTP and myself were returning home from a weekend fishing trip yesterday. Nearly home, two Sheriff SUVs pass us going in the opposite direction. After they pass us, I peek into the rear view mirror to see what they are doing, unfortunately, a custom thing to do when you are black. Sure enough, the second SUV hits his breaks, turns into the nearest driveway and doubles back which would put him trailing us.

As fate, or luck or Russian roulette would have it, the side street to our home comes up. As he is doubling back, we turn down our street to go home. Now, no longer peeking but full on watching behind us, I see him get to our street and slow down. I guess he decides it would be way too obvious to follow us to our driveway so he pulls down the street, turns into the first driveway and doubles back, again, to head in the direction he was going when he first passed us.

We shook our heads and chuckled over it a bit (an irritated laugh) but when you think about it is it really anything to joke about? I mean we're Black. We are used to it. But, what if we hadn't been so close to home? What if we weren't going home? He would have followed us, pulled us over and now my random Monday hinges on the aptitude and attitude of this officer and what level of acquiescence we decide to display to this officer, the same one who just started following us because, well maybe he wanted to help me unload my car.

None of our friends or family members know this happened. The only reason yall do was for me to make a point. That's funny how that paradox works. The only reason we face so much racism is because we talk about it too much and, yet, we talk about it so little that some persons think we live a life mostly with no issues. Hmm...

Wow they sentenced 4 people. Who do they think will pay that 12 million?

I think that anyone who committed a crime during the Capitol riot should be prosecuted.

Why do you think they should charge everyone with the same thing that was at the Capitol riot? Do you think someone who entered the Capitol but didn't commit any violence should be charged the same as someone who physically assaulted a police officer?

When do we get to hear testimony from all the cops who were physically assaulted during the months of rioting by left wingers?

I want to be clear here, this is an example of racism to you?

We don't. They had nothing to do with the insurrection to try to overthrow the US government, subvert the US constitution and install a deviant criminal sociopath as a dictator. This hearing is about who was behind the attempted coup of the US government.

What about the left wing insurrections in Minneapolis that burned down a police station, or when they attacked the federal courthouse?

It's laughable that you act like the idiots who stormed the Capitol had any chance of taking over the most powerful & militaristic country in the world. I do understand the left has to keep up this exaggeration to show the need for their domestic terrorism law and more censorship.
