Gov. Hogan of MD is calling for Trump to resign or to be removed from office. Apparently, one of the congressman from MD called and asked him to send the national guards but he couldn’t get authorization. Finally, 1 1/2 hour later, the Sec. of the Army called and asked him to send troop.

Hawley again is playing to his idiot base.

S&S is a private company they can print or not print anything they choose. If the bought the manuscript they can shelve it for eternity. It has nothing to do with the First Amendment.

Yeah, but what is the point of resigning now? 13 days to go and NOW you've seen too much? Seriously, who is looking at all of these resignations and saying "man that's some honorable stuff going on right there, they're quitting their jobs on principle"? Pretty sure no one at this point and if they do think its honorable, they should really think about what this is really doing, allowing a true sycophant interim to slide in and really mess some stuff up.

We're about to see how much damage can be done in 13 days...this is like evicting a meth addict from your rental property.

He did use the “word” IRREGARDLESS on national television last night.

I don’t know about honorable, but man, inciting a mob that attacked and desecrated the seat of American democracy is not a minor infraction. Yesterday was one of the most heinous moments in American history. I can understand looking in the mirror after that and saying enough is enough.

Should they have done it sooner? Absolutely, but we all know they are people of little or no moral character. Still, I won’t chide anyone who says yesterday was their breaking point. I’ve had a lot of days I was disgusted with Trump. Yesterday was the first time I was seething with anger.

He surrounded himself with people dumber than him because he can't stand anyone smarter than him. They think this lets them save face. Joke's on them though because the kind of person who thinks that way wants Trump gone and knows all of these people supported him through everything. Anyone else is a noodle brain magat that sees this as treason. They'd realize that if they weren't dumber than Trump himself.

The bright side of this is he may not have anyone left to carry out an illegal order for him if they all resign.

That’s awesome.. Years ago i met, and briefly worked with, the guy who played Lumberg in Office Space (also played the dad in the Brady Bunch movie, etc) Gary Cole.. He was cool so i asked him if he wouldnt mind recording my voicemail greeting as Lumberg, and he obliged: “Mmm, yeeeaaaahhh.. Mr Blue Sky isnt available at the moment so I’m gonna have to go ahead and ask you to leave a message, mmmkay? That’d be great...“ That was my voicemail greeting for years.

edit: I'm being reminded of the episode of South Park where Cartman inherits $1mil. He buys an amusement park and bans anyone from coming. Kyle, seeing how happy Cartman is, develops a terminal hemmorrhoid. But Cartman soon has to hire people for security and maintenance meaning he has to let people into the park to pay them which makes him miserable. He returns the amusement park and gets his $1mil back from the previous owner only to have the feds show up and take it all for back taxes and Kyle gets better.

Kinda feels like there are some parallels there

I'm finding it disappointing that so many people can't see what seems so obvious.

I doubt anyone forced Trump to give his speech. I don't doubt it was written for him. I think he chose to gave his speech today, because the only clear message in the speech was to condemn the assault yesterday and on the record say that he did not want what happened yesterday. He did the speech today to create reasonable doubt if he's ever charged with sedition or inciting a riot.

Everyone that is resigning right now are not resigning because they think Trump went to far. They all knew this was coming and stuck around. They are resigning, because the seditious assault didn't work. They are resigning in case they are investigated or charged. They are also creating reasonable doubt in case they need it. They can defend themselves by saying "I knew nothing, I saw nothing, I heard nothing and after it happened I quit."

It's all just so obvious when you consider the historical behavior and motivations of every single one of them. Self-enrichment and self-preservation is all they care about. Trump threw his supporters who stormed the Capitol under the bus today not to avoid being removed from office 13 days early. He did it to try to avoid being charged and convicted of sedition.

Everyone else who is resigning is doing it for the same reason.
