I guess it's time to start a thread for this. We know that at least 140 members of Congress have pledged to join the objection. Under federal law, if at least one member of each house (HOR and Senate) objects, each house will adjourn the joint session for their own session (limited at two hours) to take up the objection. If both houses pass a resolution objecting to the EC result, further action can take place. If both houses do not (i.e. if one or neither passes a resolution), the objection is powerless and the college result is certified.

Clearly this is political theater as we know such a resolution will not pass the House, and there's good reason to think it wouldn't pass the Senate either (with or without the two senators from Georgia). The January 6 joint session is traditionally a ceremonial one. This one will not be.

Many traditional pillars of Republican support have condemned the plan as futile and damaging. Certainly the Trump loyalists don't care - and many are likely doing it for fundraising purposes or to carry weight with the fraction of their constituencies that think this is a good idea.

I can’t get over how stupid these people are.

    scary, no?

This is who answers your call at ATT or Amazon, or place an online order at Panera and have an issue that needs resolution.

They simply cannot think for themselves. And when they do....its THAT.

I could have sworn I saw someone else post this, but can't seem to find it. It is really disturbing to me how these people are referred to as "patriots" when it seems more of a cult-like-behavior to me

(I would suggest not reading the comments of those tweets or you might lose hope in humanity)

It would be a thing of beauty, if after being thrown under the bus by Trump, Pence would stand up at the EC count today and say, "I am signing off on Article 25. You want theater? I WILL GIVE YOU THEATER!"

    My quick photoshop.

What still amazes me about this is that it's hard to tell if this is a willful act of lying or if he's just that ignorant/gullible. He does pass on a lot of fake news and conspiracy theories. He's the guy who likely would pick up a National Enquirer and think it's true.
I'm not sure its either. He just never really processes or internalizes anything. I doubt he even remembers most of the stuff he says himself.

He's basically just a human email filter. He immediately sorts everything he comes across into a good/bad inbox without reading any of the actual content. Then he blocks everyone on the bad list and forwards all the emails from the good list, complete with a virus, to the entire country.

My Congressional representative and one of my two Senators are both going to vote against electing the person with the most Electoral Votes (and a convincing majority of the popular votes) as President. This is fine.

Pence looks like hell. Big dark circles around his eyes, doesn't look like he's been sleeping well.

And here we go with the objections. Smdh.

They're recessing to their respective chambers to consider the challenges to Arizona.

Lol, this is shameful. Looks like the nitwits, are going to contest every state that didn't vote for Trump.:covri:

Now they're going to separate chambers to debate and vote...this is just a stupid waste of time.

This is going to take a very long time. They have two hours for debate on each state objection. There’s going to be at least five (AZ, GA, MI, PA, WI) and perhaps NV.

Unless party leadership can do something to rein this in, it’s going to go overnight or into tomorrow.

Totally disgusting that they’re doing this.

Cruz objected to Arizona so that he could be able to speak first. Because Ted Cruz loves nothing more than to hear Ted Cruz speak.
