The football board had the very useful Daily Trump Tracker thread, which was a good place to briefly discuss the latest ridiculous thing that might have ended 97% of prior Presidential administrations even if it didn't necessarily justify an entire thread devoted to it in 2017-2019 (because of the sheer volume of these things). Since I don't see anything like that here already, I'll add one myself.

    https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-ta...as-a-record-number-of-americans-cast-ballots/

Lots of good facts in here. Apparently with all the Republican effort to be evil, voter turn out remained about the same through all groups besides the black vote with fell when Obama was no longer on the ticket after setting records for voter turn out when Obama was on the ticket. That sound more like a lack of interest in the candidates to me.

just NO, dude. When people talk about voter suppression, they generally mean a targeted effort to suppress voting rates. The black vote didn’t suddenly increase during Obama and then return to pre-Obama levels, which would support what you are saying. Black voting levels had been on a steady increase for 20 years, and pulled even with white voting levels for the first time ever in 2012 and then suddenly went down in 2016. I mean it’s right there in the first paragraph. It was the steepest decline ever recorded among any demographic group.

So this was a significant decline in one demographic group, in pretty stark contrast with all other demographic groups. It tells us there was something happening, but it doesn’t tell us why. It does support the theory that black voters may have been targeted with voter suppression tactics, however.

And we know that Russian active measures on social media in 2016 targeted African Americans in an effort to suppress their voting rates. We also know that in some areas polling places were closed or numbers of polling places were reduced, sometimes dramatically. These were also done in largely African American communities. In Georgia we know that voter registration rolls were selectively purged. This also seemed to target black voters.

So it’s not a real stretch to entertain the idea that voter suppression had an effect on black voting rates. Your source actually supports the theory rather than refuting it.

and now he's claiming that he will order Biden to take a drug test for the debate because that's the only explanation for his "uneven" debate performances

    this is normal... totally normal

It becomes more and more bewildering that people can support this with a straight face

If I was Biden, I'd agree to the drug test as long as Trump agreed to a lie detector test answering questions about Putin

That is probably the best way to respond to Trump. When Trump suggested Biden take a cognitive test, Biden should have responded, "I will be glad to take a cognitive test... right after you explain to me how 'Person. Woman. Man. Camera. TV' is so hard. It's been a lot longer that 20 minutes and the whole country can still remember Person. Woman. Man. Camera. TV."

    And there are many others:

"I'll be glad to discuss the nation's business climate with you... right after you tell us how you bankrupted so many companies."

"I'll be happy to discuss faith and religion with you... but first... what is the Pentateuch? What is the fifth book of the New Testament or just recite the first four? Who denied Jesus three times before the rooster crowed? What is the nature of salvation, sin, redemption? Who were Joshua, Sarah, Rachel, Aaron as mentioned in the Bible? You don't have to get personal about why the Bible has such meaning to you, just let us know that you have a rudimentary knowledge of what's in it."

"I'll be glad to discuss how people are being unfair to you by pointing out your flaws... but first, tell me who said 'It is the first responsibility of every citizen to question authority.'" (Ben Franklin)

When Trump uses his little catchphrases, like Sleepy Joe, or insults someone, as he is certain to do, Biden should just respond, "Ben Franklin once said, 'Little minds think and talk about people. Average minds think and talk about things and actions. Great minds think and talk about ideas.' It seems you like to think, talk and tweet about people a great deal. I intend to surround myself with people who think and talk about the ideas that will move our country forward."

When Trump bloviates about being the "law and order president" and falsely claims that Biden somehow likes the rioting and unrest in our country, Biden should continue to oppose the violence as he has done. Then challenge Trump about his own understanding of what has motivated people to take to the streets and hit him with yet another quote from Franklin -- "Justice will not be served until the unaffected are as outraged as those who are."

Going toe to toe with a man like Trump and responding in kind is giving in to the bully on the playground. Whenever possible, Biden shouldn't take the bait, but rather respond with intelligence, reserved confidence and wit. Biden may indeed be declining, as we all do with age, but I believe he still has it in him to confront the bully and send him packing with his tail between his legs.

I left a bigly one off.

"I would be happy to discuss foreign policy with you... right after you explain your guiding principles on foreign policy that allows you to be closer to autocrats in Russia, North Korea and Turkey than with our nation's traditional allies."

    Bravo Richard

I would add if you’re going to take digs, You need to hit him where it hurts. What’s funny is the things that you can rattle him with are really silly and inconsequential.

there is plenty of evidence of what actually bothers him.

    Like
    his small hands
Anything about him being under someone’s control (No you’re the puppet!!!)
    His intelligence
    His bankruptcies

Things that are true about him really bother him.

The Michigan commercials are beginning to hit healthcare and social security.

At the first debate Biden should come out on stage and, before greeting Trump, do five push-ups and wait for Trump to respond. I'm assuming Joe could do five push-ups because he's seen riding his bike and is pretty fit/lean for someone his age. I doubt Trump could do a single legitimate push-up.

Obviously Trump will decline to do a push-up which should prompt Biden to respond: 'Low-energy.'

I sincerely expect Trump to accuse Biden of being low energy and a fragile old man. Then I expect Biden to counter by challenging Trump to a push up contest in the middle of the debate, knowing there's no way Trump can do a single push up.
    Just saying.

This response from the Biden campaign is great:

    Only the best...

BREAKING: Donald Trump's former campaign manager Brad Parscale 'barricades himself in Fort Lauderdale home with a gun'
    • Police were called after Parscale reportedly threatened to harm himself Sunday
    • The president announced in July he was replacing Parscale with Bill Stepien

    Only the best...

that's a terrible story... anyone who is suicidal, along with talk like "barricading himself in the house" is frightening.

Last I read, he went with the police peacefully and I hope he's okay and gets the help he needs

So the Clintons almost got to him???
You know mental health is a serious thing.

With that said I am kinda sure the walls are folding in on all kinds of people that did shady stuff the more it looks like trump is gonna lose. Extremely scared they will get cought in the net so to say.

Or he might think it was the people that killed Jeffery Epstein are after him.

I'm sorry I have run out of sympathy for the worst of the Trump enablers. Call it karma for a list too long to enumerate on here.
