Looks like it's alive and kicking to me... Sheezzzzzz.. Really...

The farmer-owned dairy cooperative, which produces butter, cheese and other milk products, has dropped the Native American maiden image from its packaging, opting instead for just a landscape.
The logo, which has been the company’s label for nearly 100 years since it was founded in Minnesota in 1921, has been called “racist” and criticized for its use of the “butter maiden.”

Couple things. I am on tablet outta town.. so debate is difficult until I get home.

First time poster... all my postings were edited hours ago.. Crybabies.. not wussies.. crybabies.. but I just cannot do a good reply..

Dad's gets it... unkletraveljim gets it... dtc does not get it.

Dad's, yes.. what was important back in the day gets throw away by crybabies who want to live for today... and act woke for sake of attention without effort.
The man's artwork that he took pride in the show the beauty of native Americans is cast aside due to crybabies wanting change for their personal views and not the benefits of a larger group... It's like selling grandpa's WWII purple heart at a garage sale because you don't need the junk.

Unkletraveljim.. yes.. PC is causing us problems. And this is just a simple point.

Dtc... who's outraged? Not me.. I am just pointing out how our wworld can get changed today by a few people by simply crying...The outrage was the few who whined about the native girl on the wrapper... I guess she was too pretty... Had she been fat and ugly probably no one would have complained. And if she was removed, they would have cried she only got removed because she was fat and ugly.

V chip- Funny... You leftists.. when all else fails... sling insults... It's funny... you sit and call people Nazis in the name of wokeness, but you and your political views and wokeness would have been an isolationist and never would have fought the Nazis at all if you had your political ways...

The problem with political correctness is not an Indian maiden on a box of butter, but a keyboard warrior getting world wide attention for nothing.

System shock. How does this affect me personally... Having been a big purchaser of LOL butter, it just disappoints me they caved in por nada...

When I told my Oteo-missouri friend the lol girl was removed because of complaints his first words were: "Which tribe did this?" "The shirts getting out of hand.

Ftp... I'll get back when I am not on this tablet out of town.

Joe, respectfully -- you have no idea what you are talking about.

The way the native american people were seen in the 1940's are way different than the way they are treated today. Many have found pride in their culture and their roots and have all the right in the world to object to the way their culture is misappropriated.

Unkletraveljim.. yes.. PC is causing us problems. And this is just a simple point.

No PC is usually just a way just an excuse to say something very rude about a group of people or portrait a group of people in a negative way

The fact that the MAJORITY of the people in the US is non-native americans does not automatically give them the right to portrait a group of fellow citizents in a way that the group in question find offensive. In a country build by many different nationalities, ethnic groups, religious convictions - this is especially important

You really don't know your history very well. Most of the european resistance groups were leftist as you call them. They paid a very high price for the fight against the Nazis. But then again you often don't understand what "left" actually is. There is just a big difference between the fractions on the left as on the right.

Well - if "Caving" means respecting that the way the company market its product by using images of a non-related ethnic group which finds the use offensive, then it says more about you that you are dissappointed than it does about them.

To me being UNPC is just an excuse for rudeness and bad manners. That's Trump's SOP, but isn't suitable for Americans. Perhaps he thinks is "manly"

This will crack you up. Bill Burr (and this is around 2.51 of the video) talks about Florida State football and how ever four seconds the marching band and the crowd break into that Tomahawk Chop thing.

I think everyone hates the tomahawk chant

Easily top 3 most annoying in sports

No it's not... Civility and good manners is when you say "Yes Mame" and "No Sir" Please and Thank you...

Politically correct is when you take an Indian Maiden off the packaging of butter because you are afraid someone is gonna be offended and not buy your product.

Or you don't put an American Flag on a T-shirt so somebody doesn't get offended.

Big Big Difference... Nice try though at taking a shot at Trump instead of our society for becoming a bunch of Cry Babies.

I liked the Land of Lakes packaging.. and their product. In our society every one is competing for victim status.. even Trump.

Now I feel guilty every time I go on the rice diet.

Before, I would diet on rice and fold my shirts in between meals. Now I'm worried about the racist implications.

Folks, I thought this was a joke. When I was looking for the Uncle Ben's rice graphic in the search engine, I typed in Uncle Ben's Racist Rice. It was a joke. And THIS came up.

When I was making vegan Aunt Jemima's pancakes a few weeks ago, I took a quick look at the face on the package and realized that the depiction of Aunt Jemima looked more like a caricature depicted in a racist historical film than a real person.

After doing some research, I learned that Quaker Oats' trademark Aunt Jemima isn't the only brand on the market rooted in racist ideals.

These idiots are actually serious. We were joking around with the Aunt Jemima and Chef BoyRDee graphics, but these bozos take this stuff seriously.

    pretty silly stuff IMO.

Absurd that they criticized the depiction of the Chiquita banana lady as a "hypersexualized Latina woman." I am just sorry. If wanting to get my banana's from a hypersexualized Latina woman is wrong, I don't wanna be right. :ezbill:

They have a bike race in Kansas. It is a gravel race thru the flint hills and starts and ends in emporia Kansas.

It is friggin huge thousands of people flock to it has been great for the town and the sport in general. Really a crazy 200 mile race that has so many riding it has a lottery for entry.

It is called dirty kanza. That sounds fine and dandy and has been going on since 2006.

The big but here is kanza. That is slang for The Kaw Nation.

    The native Indians from Kansas.

So in other words they are calling it dirty native Americans.

I can see changing it. I can see people wanting change.

They cancelled the race this year but it is mind bending hard and takes most well over 10 hours to do.

    Some things should just change.

System shock. How does this affect me personally... Having been a big purchaser of LOL butter, it just disappoints me they caved in por nada...

It affects you at some level, since you are here arguing against political correctness because a brand of butter removed a depiction of a Caucasian female wearing a Native American costume from their packaging.

You have a huge phobia for change you don't agree with. Even here, you describe the image as an "Indian" maiden. Do you know why we don't call the original people of this land "Indians" anymore? Because they aren't. Colombo was wrong: he didn't reach India, so calling them Indians was factually wrong then, and it is factually wrong now.

And you accuse others of being crybabies, but here you are, offended because a logo was removed from the package of a butter brand.
