I am not joking - I don't see how the Democrats can go with Biden. He was MIA for almost a week and the last three "appearances" that he has made have been disasters. Those were from the safety and comfort of his own home.

It's quite obvious that the DNC hit the panic button when they thought Bernie might be in a position to lay claim to the nomination. But, now their presumptive nominee is declining rapidly.

Will they draft Gov. Cuomo? It looks like he is auditioning for the part.

My dad thinks the same thing, but I don't. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me with the number of people we saw come out and vote for Biden. I'm entirely unconvinced that that will be replicated by whoever he would be replaced with.

You're giving the Democrats too much credit. Biden was the default safe choice b/c of his name recognition, centrist positions and closeness to Obama. He should have ran last election and sat out this one.

Cuomo is auditioning for 2024 b/c if Biden is elected he's not running again.

You may well be right, but I have to admit I was genuinely impressed by the Democrats' maneuvering before Super Tuesday. Regardless of whether one thinks they acted deviously, they acted effectively - letting the nation see Biden get the South Carolina bump and then following it up by getting the other candidates to withdraw just in the nick of time- it was well played.

I am not really suggesting that they have always planned on pulling Biden. I genuinely think it is becoming a necessity.

I am not screaming that I am correct, only that it seems like they are going to have to do something because Biden appears to be fading. I have been around older folks, particularly older men, with dementia and there are times that I can see a very recognizable blank look in Biden's eyes. His rage episodes are also consistent with what I have personally witnessed in men who are declining mentally.

I have been thinking this for some time. I thought it was maybe Bloomberg when he came in but that was not it. Maybe M. Obama? Not sure if she would risk her reputation on getting to a mud fight with Trump. I think she will run one day, but probably not this round.

I mean, maybe? People have been saying the same thing about Trump (inability to focus on one topic or finish a complete thought, constant rages, and so on), and yet he's still here. Reagan's been accused of having Alzheimer's while in office (although I think the facts don't support that)... so I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Just as concerning, we have a pandemic that is especially dangerous to older people and those with underlying health issues, and we have an obese septuagenarian and a near octogenarian running for the highest office in the land.

I hate to confirm this because dementia in any light is a very sad thing, but I worked in hospice for years when I was in college and I agree..

I salute you for that, it takes a tough person to do that job. The hospice workers I have met have been amazing people, not just with the patients but with the families also.

What I have observed is that a dementia patient can have a dramatic drop off in a really short period of time. I may be confusing correlation with causation, but an incidence of severe dehydration can be a trigger that they just don't recover from. Again, I may be off the mark there - it may be that the decline leads to the dehydration which leads to further decline in a downward spiral.

    It'd be a great debate.
Michele will be like "whip it out" then laugh maniacally for the rest of the debate., while Trump will call her names like he's back in 3rd grade.

Let’s see if Clinton steps back into the fray out of ‘necessity’.

Yes, but not in the way you're suggesting. She's going to have her crack assassination squad (which is super secret, but somehow certain Secret Service agents know about it, but I digress) ensure both Biden and Sanders have fatal "accidents," making the way for Cuomo to be the nominee.

    How’d you know?

Do you think Biden should be holding public campaign rallies instead of staying home?
