If you are a Conservative, would there be any Democrats you'd consider voting for over Trump?
If you are Liberal, would there be a chance someday you'd vote for a Republican if they shared your values, or would you even vote for Trump?

I've had quite a few discussions with Conservatives (nothing too deep, politics is dicey if you want to keep good relationships), and I've found that a few seem to be, oddly enough, interested in some of the more leftist members of the party. The only reason I can conjure is because of their devotion to worker's rights and the like. For instance, a few have really showed an interest in Tulsi Gabbard and even one or two expressed mild interest in Sanders. I've also heard so many say the party is going too left and they'd never consider voting for a Democrat, so it falls all over the spectrum. Just noting a few peculiar instances.

What's your opinion? What would it take if the answer is a resounding 'no'?

I think for me personally it's important to be a voter that is more concerned with issues those representing us are fighting for...so I am not loyal forever to any party. I'd vote for a Republican if they won me over with more issues I agreed with than a Democrat did.

This is where I am as well. I have issues that I look for some level of agreeance on. The more a candidate aligns with those issues, the more likely I am to vote for that person. It just so happens at the moment that those candidates either belong to or caucus with the Democratic Party.

I fall in the category as your friends who feel the Democratic party is too far to the left. That's a change that's occurred in the last few years. Three years ago I actively supported a Democratic Congressional candidate because I knew his brother pretty well before he announced and then got to know the candidate.

Fast forward a couple of years and a guy I know personally ran for the Senate as a Democrat. Despite the fact I really like and respect him, I just could not work to add numbers to the Democrats. If he had ran as a Republican, I would have put a lot of effort in his campaign.

I’m actually a registered Independent.. That said, i am proud to say that i’ve never once voted for a Republican in my life.. But i want to have the option to do so if i want to.. To answer the OP, i’d consider voting for John Kasich.. or maybe Romney if he ran again.. Hell, i’d gladly support many Republicans i disliked in the past if i though it meant removing the national embarrassment Trump from office.. i’m talking people like McCain if he were still alive, maybe even Dubya.

I vote for the candidate I think will do the best job, and I think I can trust most... 2020 will mark the 2nd time in 8 years that I have no one to vote for in the presidential election... I don't vote parties... I vote for people. And all these candidates suck.

Edit: I did have a moment where I thought I may vote for Tulsi Gabbard... and if she makes it to my ballot.... I still might.

I'm a left of center Democrat, but I would vote for Romney and probably Kasich.

So you vote for party over everything.

I'm not a member of any party, so I guess this doesn't really fit for me, but...

2016 was the first time I ever didn't vote for a Republican somewhere on the ballot, and until they show they can act independently and back away from Trumpism, they'll never see another vote from me.

    Sinema or Tulsi.

I am sure you know why. >:)

“Democrats are too far to the left!”

“Well, except for these two I actually know.”

“But it doesn’t matter, because Democrats are too far to the left!”

    Continue ad nauseam.

A vote for a Democratic Congressman, even one I like, is a vote to keep Democrats as the majority in the House, and to keep Nancy as speaker, and people like Schiff, Nadler and Waters as chairs of committees.
