Didn't really see a place for this so I thought I would start a thread about all things LGBTQ since this is a pretty hot topic in our culture right now

    • The Supreme Court on Thursday delivered a unanimous defeat to LGBT couples in a high-profile case over whether Philadelphia could refuse to contract with a Roman Catholic adoption agency that says its religious beliefs prevent it from working with same-sex foster parents.
    • Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in an opinion for a majority of the court that Philadelphia violated the First Amendment by refusing to contract with Catholic Social Services once it learned that the organization would not certify same-sex couples for adoption.

I will admit, I was hopeful for this decision by the SCOTUS but I was surprised by the unanimous decision.

While I don't think there is anything wrong, per se, with same sex couples adopting and raising children (I actually think it is a good thing as it not an abortion) but I also did not want to see the state force a religious institution to bend to a societal norm.

Somehow these “Moms for Liberty” have been gaslighted into thinking that there is a conspiracy to turn their children gay or trans. She readily admits it at first, but when the interviewer probes a little deeper she says no, they’re not really trying to turn children gay, they’re just using that to erode conservative family values and parental control. I wish I could see the rest of the interview, I feel like the interviewer could get her to examine that her response to ”losing parental control” is to take away everyone else’s parental control. I think she could get there.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — A popular Orlando restaurant that regularly features drag shows filed a federal lawsuit against the state of Florida and Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday, less than a week after he signed a bill that targets drag performances.

The lawsuit filed in Orlando federal court by the owner of Hamburger Mary’s Orlando claims the state is depriving the business of its First Amendment rights to free expression. The restaurant is asking the court to temporarily stop the law from taking effect while the case moves forward.

DeSantis has made anti-LGBTQ+ legislation a large part of his agenda as he prepares to seek the Republican presidential nomination. He signed the bill restricting drag performances — along with bills that ban gender-affirming care for minors, restrict discussion of personal pronouns in schools and force people to use certain bathrooms — last Wednesday in front of a cheering crowd at the evangelical Cambridge Christian School in Tampa...........

Christian teacher has been banned from the profession for “misgendering” a pupil in a case believed to be the first of its kind in the UK.

Joshua Sutcliffe, 33, was ruled by the Teaching Regulation Authority (TRA) to have failed to treat a pupil with “dignity and respect”. He was also found to have failed to protect the pupil's wellbeing when he did not use the preferred pronouns of a girl who identified as a boy.

Mr Sutcliffe, a former maths teacher at The Cherwell School, a state secondary in Oxford, admitted he did not use the pupil's preferred pronouns when he praised a group of pupils during a maths lesson by stating, “well done girls”. He claimed that this was not intentional and that he apologised immediately.

The TRA found it was “more probable than not” that he publicly referred to the transgender pupil using female pronouns on other occasions while working at the school between 2015 and 2018, which Mr Sutcliffe denied.

As well as the allegations of misgendering a pupil, Mr Sutcliffe was found guilty of misconduct for expressing his views against gay marriage when questioned by a pupil, and for failing to “consider the potential impact” on his pupils, particularly those who may be from the LGBT+ community, of a statement that being gay was wrong.

A complaint against the teacher for showing pupils at a different school a video which contained “inappropriate comments”, including that a growing problem in today’s society was that men were not masculine enough, was also upheld............

I'm game. As long as that goes for preachers and priests, too.

I'll put money on which pile of heads will be larger.

I do. I consider the entire Catholic Church to be a band of pedophiles and enablers.
I'll continue to do so until priests start being turned over to the police instead of being shuffled around.
Okay, noted. But no political parties want to discriminate, in fact, a fair number of R are just the opposite.

Would a man wearing high heels violate his drag laws? Has anybody paid attention to him mincing around in his high heeled boots? His white boots were fabulous!

Yup, I feel exactly the same way. My wife and her family are Catholic, as are some of my best and oldest friends growing up in LA. My friends don't really practice any longer and are fully aware and disgusting by the Church......my wife and her family still are active, you can't really even bring it up to them.....total denial......

My wife at least acknowledges there is a problem.....but denial and guilt seem to be what a lot of these folks truly believe in....

Do you think it'll be all 30 at one, big event? Or a couple tons at fifteen to twenty events?

These guys are so brazen. They know there will be zero consequences for their actions.
