I guess it's time to start a thread for this. We know that at least 140 members of Congress have pledged to join the objection. Under federal law, if at least one member of each house (HOR and Senate) objects, each house will adjourn the joint session for their own session (limited at two hours) to take up the objection. If both houses pass a resolution objecting to the EC result, further action can take place. If both houses do not (i.e. if one or neither passes a resolution), the objection is powerless and the college result is certified.

Clearly this is political theater as we know such a resolution will not pass the House, and there's good reason to think it wouldn't pass the Senate either (with or without the two senators from Georgia). The January 6 joint session is traditionally a ceremonial one. This one will not be.

Many traditional pillars of Republican support have condemned the plan as futile and damaging. Certainly the Trump loyalists don't care - and many are likely doing it for fundraising purposes or to carry weight with the fraction of their constituencies that think this is a good idea.

Here's the "principled" Liz Cheney telling a lie that she knew was a lie and never corrected it. She probably learned that from her Dad.

You get worse by the day. You realize that was the day he forking died, don't you? Also, Sicknick died due to his injuries on Jan 6th.

fork the Jan 6th terrorist and all that support them. fork'em all!!!

There's probably video that could be pulled from the twin towers on September 11th 2001 that makes it look like it was just any other day.

Lol one of those things that pisses me off and I just can't help it when you're telling me you believe I'm so stupid that I don't know what I already forking know or didn't see what I already forking saw.

We have known that the guy died days later since like the beginning of this.

Do you remember the little girl who got hit in the head by a hockey puck about 20 years ago, got up crying from her seat holding her head and walked away and then died a couple of days later from the injury?

If you're going to make the argument that Liz Cheney should have parsed it out better, then OK fine. Don't think that's what you're doing though.

The videos even without Tuckers commentary speak for themselves. Why were the Democrats so scared of it being released? Some laughable BS about Tucker revealing sensitive security facts like exits or safe rooms. They couldn't even come up with a plausible excuse. It reminds me of when the FBI, Schiff, other Democrats and the media claimed that releasing the Nunes memo would endanger national security which was a crock of %#^#. That Nunes memo exposed Schiff and the Democrats as liars.

Why does our Democracy depend on more videos not being released? McCarthy said he gave Tucker the exclusive and then it will be released to the other news organizations. I have a feeling if the NYT or the Washington Post got the exclusive then there wouldn't be any of the sky is falling rhetoric.

Why do you repeat talking points from known liars as fact? You can see in the Fox/Dominion thread that Tucker is among those that knowlingly pushed lies just to help keep up viewrship numbers. Does that not butt area his credibility beyond repair?

Greenwald has broken more big stories than anyone at the Washington Post besides maybe Woodward. You are aware that the Washington Post editorials are nothing more than DNC press releases right?
The irony of this - Fox has just been outed as an actual arm of the Republican Party in court documents, so you have to make up lies about other actual real news sites.

    Transparent and desperate.

The only parts of Dossier that was true(one of the sources was long time Clinton Operative Charles Dolan) were things that were publicly reported before the dossier was created.
Care to back that up, or are you just parroting a Kremlin apologist? Never mind, I know the answer to that one.

    Mitch criticizing Tucker:

The Capitol Police criticized Tucker, Sens Romney, Tillis, Rounds and Cramer also called out Tucker for his lies and disinformation about Jan. 6.

Tucker is going full Alex Jones with this stuff.

The videos speak for themselves and its completely different from the media/ January 6th committee narratives. What a surprise.

Well, at least we know where your loyalties lie, and it isn't with our country. That you support the views of these idiots isn't terribly surprising. Thanks for confirming what we already knew. :9:

Hell, I can't tell the ddifference between the two of them. Tucker is an Alex Jones clone.

One small point - he suffered his strokes the very next day.

He is definitely heading in that direction. He’s playing a stupid game - lying to inflame his viewers. Problem with that is that once you make up really fabulous shirt, you have to keep upping the ante. He’s looking more desperate every day.

From his own emails and texts, we know he doesn’t believe the crap he is peddling. We know he hates Trump “passionately”. We know he once enjoyed - and not all that long ago - a fond relationship with Hunter Biden and Eric Swalwell.

His hypocrisy is on display. The only reason anyone would take him seriously at this point is that they are addicted to “outrage” and/or they desperately want it to be true.

Not so much that they're idiots imo.. but that they're driven by their absolute hatred of anyone to the left of them.

I've said it before but they would judge that it's more important to maintain right wing power through whatever means necessary than it is for our democratic system to survive.

It's the philosophy we often see in other places where the view is that 'we haven't actually been defeated until you show that I can't just take it away from you by force.'

Barry Loudermilk, the Republican representative from Georgia who has been accused of giving tours of the Capitol building days before the January 6 insurrection, will lead a new House committee that will investigate the Democratic-controlled January 6 select committee.

On Tuesday, Loudermilk criticized the select committee, saying: “The J6 committee chose to ignore the facts and pursue a particular political narrative. I will not do this.”

“As chairman of the subcommittee on oversight, I’m focused on finding out what really happened on J6 to ensure it never happens again.”

Loudermilk is expected to focus on what he considers “security failure” that led up to the riots two years ago, CNN reports.

In an interview with the outlet, Loudermilk said: “I’m spending some time over there getting my hands wrapped around what we have. We’re going to be looking at what happened in the Capitol. What happened leading up to it? How did we have such a security failure?”

“The January 6 committee, they didn’t take that approach. That should have been something that they looked it. I think they looked more on the political side of it,” he said……
