I think this is from their release of documents. Remember that House Rep Loudermilk who led a group of his constituents through the House Office building and Capitol on Jan. 5? It seems at least one of that group was part of the action on the 6th.

Were these statements made under oath? Perjury?

Not sure of the burden of proof but this Loudermilk buffon hopefully gets whats coming to him....traiterous jackhole....
Now, why do you want to insult jackholes? Loudermilk is far worse than that.😉

I’m not sure, but I think his earlier statements were not under oath. I think they were statements made to reporters.

This is a WaPo article that appears in Apple News, so it’s free for me to read it. I find it fascinating that the Jan 6 committee had extensive information on radical rightists use of social media to foment violence before the insurrection, but it didn’t make the final report.

“The evidence they collected was written up in a 122-page memo that was circulated among the committee, according to a draft viewed by The Washington Post. But in the end, committee leaders declined to delve into those topics in detail in their final report, reluctant to dig into the roots of domestic extremism taking hold in the Republican Party beyond former president Donald Trump and concerned about the risks of a public battle with powerful tech companies, according to three people familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the panel’s sensitive deliberations.

Congressional investigators found evidence that tech platforms — especially Twitter — failed to heed their own employees’ warnings about violent rhetoric on their platforms and bent their rules to avoid penalizing conservatives, particularly then-president Trump, out of fear of reprisals. The draft report details how most platforms did not take “dramatic” steps to rein in extremist content until after the attack on the Capitol, despite clear red flags across the internet.” (Emphasis mine)

I’m beginning to wonder if Liz Cheney influenced this decision just as she was rumored to have influenced the decision to leave Ginni Thomas out of the final report of the committee.

Nice to see this coming out right now to put up against the "the government is censoring conservatives on Twitter" bullshirt.

There is now so much evidence against the theory that the government was censoring conservatives that if anyone pushes that crap you know they are either lying or doing the work of liars. I just posted another article today in the Twitter thread of independent analysis of the so-called Twitter files. It’s all BS just as you said.

It is literally propaganda 101, push out a fire hose of BS and never stop. The facts cannot possibly keep up.

The internet has done wonders for fallacies. The Gish Gallop is so much more effective.

Arizona Congressman Paul Gosar has said “heads have to roll” over the January 6 Committee’s now-concluded investigation into the Capitol riot.

In an interview with the right-wing outlet The Gateway Pundit published on Sunday, Mr Gosar agreed that former Wyoming Representative Liz Cheney, the vice chair of the committee and one of only two Republicans in the panel, should be prosecuted for her role in the probe.

Mr Gosar, who has relentlessly downplayed the attack had said in January that he was poised to conduct a “real” investigation into January 6.

“ I think there’s also military that are involved,” the politician told the Pundit. “And I think that their heads have to roll. Otherwise, you condone this lawlessness ... we see lawlessness everywhere and that’s part of the precipitating actions that Congress is allowed.”

Mr Gosar’s remarks come days after Georgia Representative Barry Loudermilk revealed an investigation into the dissolved committee is already underway and that “meetings will be held eventually”.

“We need to give a serious, in-depth investigation into what happened that day, which the J6 committee didn’t do. We need to know, where were the security failures … as well as what do we need to do to fix it?” Mr Loudermilk said, per The Hill……..

The Jan. 6 committee spent months gathering stunning new details on how social media companies failed to address the online extremism and calls for violence that preceded the Capitol riot.

The evidence they collected was written up in a 122-page memo that was circulated among the committee, according to a draft viewed by The Washington Post.

The draft report details how most platforms did not take “dramatic” steps to rein in extremist content until after the attack on the Capitol, despite clear red flags across the internet.

“The sum of this is that alt-tech, fringe, and mainstream platforms were exploited in tandem by right-wing activists to bring American democracy to the brink of ruin,” the staffers wrote in their memo. “These platforms enabled the mobilization of extremists on smaller sites and whipped up conservative grievance on larger, more mainstream ones.”

But little of the evidence supporting those findings surfaced during the public phase of the committee’s probe, including its 845-page report that focused almost exclusively on Trump’s actions that day and in the weeks just before.

That focus on Trump meant the report missed an opportunity to hold social media companies accountable for their actions, or lack thereof, even though the platforms had been the subject of intense scrutiny since Trump’s first presidential campaign in 2016, the people familiar with the matter said……

I knew this would all be swept under the rug and nothing would come of this.

Too many people with their own skeletons, complicit in their own wrong doings, run Washington DC. They cannot hold these people accountable because they fear increased scrutiny will eventually shed light on their own bad behaviors.

We truly are in a Kakistocracy.

    Guess this can go here

    Future slander/defamation suit coming?
    =====================

Two Atlanta election workers who were the subject of an outlandish conspiracy theory amplified by Donald Trump were formally cleared of all wrongdoing by the Georgia state election board this week.

Ruby Freeman and her daughter Wandrea ArShaye “Shaye” Moss were at the center of one of the most persistent lies spread by Donald Trump and allies after the 2020 election.

Using selectively edited video footage, Trump and Rudy Giuliani claimed that Freeman and Moss removed ballots from suitcases underneath tables after counting had ended on election night and counted them.

Georgia election officials immediately debunked the claim, saying security footage showed that counting had not ended for the evening when Freeman and Moss removed the ballots from secure ballot transport boxes.

A 10-page report released on Tuesday affirms that conclusion and offers one of the most thorough debunking of the claim to date. It officially marked the closure of the state election board’s investigation into the matter.

“All allegations made against Freeman and Moss were unsubstantiated and found to have no merit,” the report says.……

The problem that I am having right now is that these three women knew about what was going on for too long of a time and probably would not have come forward if not for the fact that they were threatened with jail time. I’m happy that they told the truth but for me all three of them will be damaged goods for the rest of their lives.
