I was looking for a place to put this so we could discuss but didn't really find a place that worked so I created this thread so we can all place articles, experiences, videos and examples of racism in the USA.

This is one that happened this week. The lady even called and filed a complaint on the officer. This officer also chose to wear the body cam (apparently, LA doesn't require this yet). This exchange wasn't necessarily racist IMO until she started with the "mexican racist...you will never be white, like you want" garbage. That is when it turned racist IMO

All the murderer and other insults, I think are just a by product of CRT and ACAB rhetoric that is very common on the radical left and sadly is being brought to mainstream in this country.

Another point that I think is worth mentioning is she is a teacher and the sense of entitlement she feels is mind blowing.

What does perjury have to do with this? Nobody in this Duke/BYU volleyball thing committed perjury at all.

If someone makes a accusation, is it not on them to prove it or defend it? If not, they become the criminal and the accused becomes the victim. Pretty simple logic. I just don't think you can move past the skin color on this one.

Making an accusation that goes unproven doesn't make someone a criminal. That's the stupidest forking thing I've heard. There is a world of difference between making an accusation you believe to be genuine that eventually goes unproven and intentionally making a false accusation that eventually goes on to be disproven.

School officials in Laurens County, Georgia reveal how sorry and “disappointed” they are after a racist photo has made its way online. The picture shows five white male students spelling out the n-word on their chests.

The photo was taken last Friday night (September 16), during West Laurens High School football game versus Bleckley County High School.

The students had painted on jerseys on their torsos. They were reportedly supposed to form a big line to spell out “# DiggingForRoyalGold!!!,” as their rival team’s name is the “Royals.”

However, at some point a few of the students decided to deviate from the initial plan and stand in a shorter line to spell out a derogatory word.

Laurens County’s school Superintendent Clifford Garnto said that they are aware of the racist photo of the five white male students, and that the district “does not support, nor condone, any offensive actions of this nature.”

In his statement, Superintendent Garnto added, “We are truly disappointed in the choices of these students; the environment and teaching at West Laurens High School fosters love and respect among our students and each other.”..........

A Florida middle school is currently under fire after six white students posed with the n-word in front of their school. In response to the backlash, school officials are claiming the photo stemmed from “an innocent art project.”

The incident went down recently at Hidden Oaks Middle School, which is apart of Florida’s Martin County School District.

This past week, a highly disturbing and offensive photo began circulating showing six white students holding up 3D letters, spelling out the racial slur. Each of the six letters also had racial stereotypes painted on them.

The photo went viral and caught the attention of Martin County NAACP president Jimmy Smith. He said, “It might seem like it’s funny or might just be kids. No, we have all made mistakes. But when you get to that degree, to come up with an idea like that, there’s something else going on.”

While Smith, like many others, found the photo to be shocking, he also added that he was not surprised at all by the incident. He further explained, “What I mean by, ‘I’m not surprised.’ I’ve been here since 1962. Palm City was a place that we weren’t allowed to cross the bridge to go to.”

Smith continued to recall Palm City’s challenging past battling race, and also reflected on the times when schools were segregating in Southern Florida. He said, “In my time, 1976, we had the biggest fight with the Ku Klux Klan, and I was in the school.”

On Monday (May 16), in response to the backlash in South Florida and across the internet, Martin County School District officials say they are appalled and saddened by the actions of their students.

School District Spokeswoman Jennifer DeShazo stated, “An innocent art project was unfortunately taken to a different level by some students who made an extremely poor decision.”

Apparently, the exercise was to help the students build 3D projects, creating letters to represent an initial in each of their names; but the children took things a step further and decided to use the letters to spell out and pose with the racist word...........

The proud tradition of some white parents raising proud little racist has really had a strong revival since Trump and the "anti-CRT" movement. But I'm glad racism is "solved".

We may actually need to start teaching CRT in schools now to fight back against these growing racist attitudes. Maybe we should start making white little kids feel some shame over the racism of their parents/other white people, as it may actually be beneficial in combating future racism. It would certainly be better than celebrating it or ignoring it so they don't get their feeling hurt and having it grow like it is today.

I have asked before and got the dance around but this might answer my question. Do you think only white people are capable of being racist? Is not all racist bad and should not all racists be called out and shamed? I think so, but your choice of words seemed a bit telling.

Another option to consider, by taking language and making it taboo for a certain color of people to use certain words that are used everywhere in our pop culture, is it not logical to think that, particularly teens, might use it because of the fact that it is 'against the rules'? So maybe these are not evil white devils but just childish common teenager antics?

it may not be institutonal racism but i did figure you would find a way to blame the victim in this case and not call the "idiots" racists.

No. I'm pointing out that there is no evidence either way, so assuming the position that she is lying makes no sense. Taking it several steps further to wanting to legally punish her is ridiculous.

This is why I said several posts ago that the idea of whether or not an apology is warranted would be a far better question. I think there's an argument to be made either way.

I work in a warehouse. We get deliveries all day long. I couldn't count, i'd have to start an excel spreadsheet , how many times a white truck driver or delivery driver made racist comments just assuming i would agree with them, or felt the same way just because i was white. i do enjoy the squirm of watching them try to backtrack or try make excuses when i tell them i do not like that and would appricate them not talking like that in my office.
Or like that time my wifes uncle who made pretty bad comment about Puerto Ricans and my wife told him i was Puerto Rican. All of a sudden most of those people develop a studder.
I will say yes, in my experiences, this happens more normally than most people would like to admit.
