I guess it's time to start a thread for this. We know that at least 140 members of Congress have pledged to join the objection. Under federal law, if at least one member of each house (HOR and Senate) objects, each house will adjourn the joint session for their own session (limited at two hours) to take up the objection. If both houses pass a resolution objecting to the EC result, further action can take place. If both houses do not (i.e. if one or neither passes a resolution), the objection is powerless and the college result is certified.

Clearly this is political theater as we know such a resolution will not pass the House, and there's good reason to think it wouldn't pass the Senate either (with or without the two senators from Georgia). The January 6 joint session is traditionally a ceremonial one. This one will not be.

Many traditional pillars of Republican support have condemned the plan as futile and damaging. Certainly the Trump loyalists don't care - and many are likely doing it for fundraising purposes or to carry weight with the fraction of their constituencies that think this is a good idea.

You are assuming that all comers have equal intelligence. I agree with free education for those that are academically qualified. Those that cannot do the academic job need to go elsewhere.
At what age do we decide someone is too stupid to educate?

Oh come on, you guys can't even believe this right? Right?
Does anyone else just cringe watching these dolts? (Yes, Republicans do it too and it is just as cringy). If you are not adult enough to not cry in a meeting, maybe you shouldn't be doing that job?

He was going for the Grammy. Real people would be embarassed to cry on camera, but here are our leaders. Cringe.

I’m cringing all right, but not for the same reason as you are. 🤦‍♀️

Your inability to conceive of people having emotions doesn't preclude people with emotions from existing.

You don't think people with a higher education can't do non academic jobs? You don't think higher education can benefit manual labor related jobs?
Regarding education or ability to do a job. This is about individual talent. Humans are not equal and hence the talent pool is very diverse.

A non qualified applicant that is allowed to get a PhD may end up in a menial job.

How many people got arrested on Jan 6?

The bar is set up to a standard. Those that cannot meet the standard go elsewhere.
So you are going to continue to avoid answering the question...
That is how it is done in nations with free education.
    Latin American nations, right? :hihi:
In the end the applicant makes the decision by failing to meet the minimum requirements.
    That's not how decisions work.

Except in regards to voting. MENSA members and morons all get to vote. Since they all get to vote, it behooves us to at least try to educate everyone up to a certain level.
The AA degree becomes the new HS diploma here in the 21st century.

I do not disagree with anything above.
BTW, many jobs require a college degree even if the degree has nothing to do with the job at hand.

Absolutely. My wife has run across this several times. It's a box HR wants to put a checkmark into before they move your application up the chain. BA degree: Yes__ No__ The form doesn't even have a spot to input the nature of the degree.

Being an echo chamber, are these idiots not preforming and fake crying? Are you saying they are not crying or are not acting a part?
Why do you feel comfortable looking at these men and knowing what‘s in their hearts, but in your response to FTP you said you couldn’t see inside the cop’s heart to know if he is racist?

To me, that’s not being very consistent.
