I understand the FBI's argument, but damn, when you get so much you actually have to open a tip line to collect info. And it ends up the only people who gets this info are the ones who want it to go away. GTFOH

Of course, we still can't turn back the political clock and bring this relevant information to the MSM and the SCOTUS nomination committee 3 years ago to raise so much intense, negative scrutiny that Kavanaugh's chances are ruined.

Then again, Kavanaugh as well as Amy Coney Barrett did show some political and legal-judicial spine by merely following the Constitution in order of Presidential lawful, legal succession by not bowing to Trump's demands to have conservative-leaning SCOTUS justices overturn his 2020 election loss and thereby becoming willing, complicit enablers in Trump's attempted coup de'tat.

The absolute worst is the debt, and how it suddenly disappeared right before his nomination. Somebody thinks they own Kavanaugh, whether they do or not. And we don’t know if they will call in the marker or if he will pay up. He should have never been confirmed.

Thank goodness he was already confirmed. Everyone knows no one will make up stories and rumors for political posturing or gain?

technically a supreme court justice can be impeached. Although the probability is higher that I'll win the lottery
"The only Justice to be impeached was Associate Justice Samuel Chase in 1805. The House of Representatives passed Articles of Impeachment against him; however, he was acquitted by the Senate."

Guys, with the exception of Thomas most Republican appointed judges tend to follow the constitution and often vote with the left. They spanked Trump on the elections.

I mean... yeah... they have enough sense not to have turned the country back over to a maniac spewing nonsensical conspiracy theories. I'd bet all of Trump's SC nominees think he's a danger to the republic.

As to Kavanaugh specifically... anyone who kept a day-runner in high school... let alone kept it in storage for DECADES is probably a jerk!

    I agree!

Kavanaugh is a smart guy but is also conscientious. People with those tow qualities generally have success.

Come on, bro... he saved his high school day-runner!!!
    Yes, he is anal.

Conscientiousness is the personality trait of being careful, or diligent. Conscientiousness implies a desire to do a task well, and to take obligations to others seriously. Conscientious people tend to be efficient and organized as opposed to easy-going and disorderly. They exhibit a tendency to show self-discipline, act dutifully, and aim for achievement; they display planned rather than spontaneous behavior; and they are generally dependable. It is manifested in characteristic behaviors such as being neat, and systematic; also including such elements as carefulness, thoroughness, and deliberation (the tendency to think carefully before acting). WIKI

There's conscientious and then there's saving your high school day-runner for thirty years. I can't think of any reason why a person would keep that... other than plausible deniability that he committed sexual assault. Okay, that last part is just a zinger.

I don't doubt his intellect, I don't doubt his fastidiousness, or his supercalifragilisticexpialidociousness... but the guy strikes me as a political hack.

He could be a jerk too.

Not a left or right issue with me. My issue is he is a loathsome piece of shirt that potentially committed a crime - which the republicans quickly swept under the rug in order to quickly push their nom through. He was a poor pick, and the first hint that things were not up to par SHOULD have been enough for him to be dropped from consideration. The bar association had concerns about him as well. But was any of this really looked into? nope. The FBI had a severe restriction and limit in what they investigated. If this had been a pick from a (D) president I would raise similar concerns and would never accept it.

The end justifies the means. Both sides play the game. We will never know the truth. I will say Trump nominating Barrett was a much lower blow. And he knew she was clean.

I don't respect the guy because he cried on TV not because he kept keepsakes from his childhood.
Also, neither of those things should prevent a guy from being on the SCOTUS.
