Not really that shocking to anyone paying attention the last five years. The only question was whether Russia was working with the campaign, which the Mueller investigation was unable to confirm, but it was obvious Russia was working in Trump's interest.

And no doubt Putin feels he got his money's worth, just for January 6 alone. The elevation of Donald Trump was one of the worst things that ever happened to this country.

The report – “No 32-04 \ vd” – is classified as secret. It says Trump is the “most promising candidate” from the Kremlin’s point of view. The word in Russian is perspektivny.

There is a brief psychological assessment of Trump, who is described as an “impulsive, mentally unstable and unbalanced individual who suffers from an inferiority complex”.

There is also apparent confirmation that the Kremlin possesses kompromat, or potentially compromising material, on the future president, collected – the document says – from Trump’s earlier “non-official visits to Russian Federation territory”.

“It is acutely necessary to use all possible force to facilitate his [Trump’s] election to the post of US president,” the paper says.

This would help bring about Russia’s favoured “theoretical political scenario”. A Trump win “will definitely lead to the destabilisation of the US’s sociopolitical system” and see hidden discontent burst into the open, it predicts.

In other words Biden is an appeaser.
An A-hole on one side an an appeaser on the other. We are doomed.

Looks like Biden is calling out China’s hacking. The Five Eyes nations, Japan, EU, and NATO are supporting the US and calling out China for state sponsored cyber crimes. This looks like coalition building before action. Let’s see if there is follow through but so far it’s not the move of an appeaser.

BTW, I am 100% fro national health care. IN that regard I like Australia. I was speaking to having a lesser role in world affairs. Lastly, they remain a developed nation and that is good enough for me.

I do not own guns. Where I live I can call 911 and a cop appears in two minutes. However, if I lived in a farm in a sparsely populated area I would own a gun for self defense. Calling the cops won't help because it would take over a half hour for the cops to show up. Lastly unarmed citizens are unable to fight tyranny by the government. Just look at Cuba, North Korea, and Venezuela.

OK, I am silly, but I do not have class envy and I do not want to appropriate the money of others for my own benefit.
Considering that entire country has about half the population of California they are exactly as non existent as their population would have them. Power is GDP and Australia is like just above Spain and behind thirteen other countries.

I guess you are fine with the utter crap we call gun laws. Australia has real checks real license tests an on and on.

So I guess you are a firm believer that Amazon owes nothing because all the overwhelmed and overworked employees pay tax?

I guess you are a fanboy of the one buck a year people that completely shaft the system. A whopping dollar of taxable income and millions in non taxable stock options.

When a person that asks you if you want fries with that paid more in taxes that day than Warren Buffett does for an entire year is the problem.
When have you ever criticized the mainstream press? You always try to discredit things by saying it wasn’t reported by the mainstream press. You need to be more skeptical of the mainstream press rather than regurgitating everything they say.

Here are 24 reasons why you should be more skeptical of the media, but I doubt you will even look at the detailed examples.

I’ll post some of examples of the media amplifying this story in the media thread.

Can you explain how Greenwald supposedly failed at his MSM gigs because I don’t think that’s accurate. I don’t believe or agree with everything Greenwald or Mate says, but they talk about or criticize things that the liberal reporters ignore. It’s also quite obvious that the media(and many around here) branded anyone that didn’t go along with the media Russiagate narratives as Kremlin stooges, supporters of Russia, fascists, grifters, etc.
Really a dude that has lived in Russia, Mongolia, and other places like that almost half his life?

I am certain the guy that played professional basketball and baseball over there and had English language news papers that he started there is informed.

Hell this guy spent a year at Saint Petersburg State Polytechnic University

Yep I guess this guy would have a pro Russian vibe. Heck being a journalist in Russia I guess you have to.

Do you have a non stooge to post please?

I could live with that. BTW, Spain is a lovely country. I would gladly live there.

Maryland (where I live) has all those laws plus more. They put people through hoops to buy a firearm. Meanwhile Baltimore, Md is as violent as Chicago.

I rather have 1000 Amazon like businesses providing jobs than no Amazon. Corporations do not pay taxes because corporations are not people. The members of the corporation pay taxes. I do not mind the filthy rich. I want more of them. The more the better. The government is free to change the tax laws and get more from them.

I have to disagree about businesses because trickle down economics does not work. I don't think it is fair for these companies to shift the tax burden on common folk, which essentially this does. Now if they made billions and paid their fair share of taxes, fine. However there are so many tax loopholes for companies it is ridiculous. A few years back GE make 10s of billions and paid nothing in taxes, You might say well these companies hire a lot of people, but how many people would it require to offset the low (or no) taxes these companies pay? There are no guarantees companies hire more people, sometimes the reverse happens. Or you see companies offload a lot of local workers in favor of cheap offshore labor in other countries (call centers come to mind). This is all to maximize profit for their investors

Corporations are people when it benefits them.
No doubt, they will play with IRS rules. Your congressmen and senators (even the most left wingers) are on the payroll of big corporations.

No one gives more money that private health insurance. That is why we do not have National Medicare.

Left wing congressmen and senators will not change the tax laws. We all know why they don't.

I rather live in a capitalist system even if a few are filthy rich. Living in a coun try woth no rich people is much worse. It is not perfect, but it is better than nothing.

Do you think wealth is finite?

No one gives more money that private health insurance. That is why we do not have National Medicare.

There needs to be some serious campaign finance reform, take the influence out of the hands of corporations.

Left wing congressmen and senators will not change the tax laws. We all know why they don't.

Actually.. I don't know why, can you elaborate?
Honestly this is an odd statement to me, because if anyone is pushing for more taxes for the wealthy and corporations it is the left (Bernie, Elizabeth Warren etc). republicans are firmly against raising taxes for corporations. Trump got a huge tax break for wealthy and corporations, and Just the other day Arizona voted for giving them a tax break. But this isn't a new trend, it has been in their playbook for a while now

I would rather see a serious push to help uplift the middle class and small businesses vs large corporations. You see politicians repeating "small business is the backbone of this economy" but not much (in my opinion - or maybe better to say not enough) is done to help them vs giving out huge tax breaks to billion dollar corporations.

Do you think wealth is finite?

This to me is a philosophical question.
are you talking actual physical currency or the concept of wealth? It is hard to comprehend what a trillion dollars would look like in real life. To me that is a finite number but also seemingly infinite since it is impossible to spend it all.
Then you have things like bitcoin that doesn't really exist physically, yet people put value on it.

It’s a terribly failed experiment…what with CEO’s and owners of corporations making 100 times what they used to all the while working class folks pay their fair share of taxes. Income inequality is at an all time high and growing, wage growth has not kept up and never will in the current environs with the current BS tax code.

There are some on the left that want to change this but there need to be more. There are exactly zero lawmakers on the right that want to do anything but make it worse….

Some may say wealth has to do with natural resources. However, natural resources do not bring wealth unless they are used wisely. Ultimate wealth is the creation of man. Wealth is the result of Innovation, imagination, productivity and hard work. Not all hard work! Splitting rocks all day it’s a lot of work but creates no wealth. Thinking about the solution to cure cancer may take five minutes and this creates much more wealth than 1 million people splitting rocks for a million years.

Imagine I am the inventor of the Computer. With this computer a simple small businessman can double productivity and be more efficient and attract new clients. If I sell millions computers I become wealthy, however my clients end up making more money. In other words, the money spent on the laptop to manage their business increases their profits. In this instance wealth is created both ends (that would be the inventor of the computer and the user of the computer).

I agree 100%. As it is the system is run by the elite and the wealthy.

Some people see this as class warfare, the rich versus the poor. They embrace the concept that the Republicans want to see poverty and that the Democrats want to get rid of the poverty. In reality this is a battle of two philosophies: The right believes in capitalism which fails to help many and the left believes in wealth redistribution (which ultimately also fails). We need a solid hybrid system and a powerful safety net. But, don't kid yourself. You may hate capitalism but ultimately you will need the wealth created by capitalism to pay for the safety net.

The small businesses cannot grease the wheels in DC. The large corporations line the pockets of people in Washington.

When this country is at its best (and it clearly is not right now) it is because there is a proper balance of capitalism and (gasp) socialism, if thats what you mean by a solid hybrid system I would agree….

Now that Biden is president I am feeling quite satisfied with America. I believe things were much worse in the 70s and 80s and when Trump was in. The only thing that bothers me is the polarization. A civil war would be very nasty and as a foreigner I may not do well with that. I worry about my children.

it's ok, you're not a foreigner. You've lived in the US longer than most of the US population.

Do you have additional concerns regarding polarization with what we currently see from the right with the continued level of fervent support for Trump(ism) and "The Big Lie" by elected Republicans and constituents?
