Didn't really see a place for this so I thought I would start a thread about all things LGBTQ since this is a pretty hot topic in our culture right now

    https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/17/sup...y-that-refuses-to-work-with-lgbt-couples.html

    • The Supreme Court on Thursday delivered a unanimous defeat to LGBT couples in a high-profile case over whether Philadelphia could refuse to contract with a Roman Catholic adoption agency that says its religious beliefs prevent it from working with same-sex foster parents.
    • Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in an opinion for a majority of the court that Philadelphia violated the First Amendment by refusing to contract with Catholic Social Services once it learned that the organization would not certify same-sex couples for adoption.

I will admit, I was hopeful for this decision by the SCOTUS but I was surprised by the unanimous decision.

While I don't think there is anything wrong, per se, with same sex couples adopting and raising children (I actually think it is a good thing as it not an abortion) but I also did not want to see the state force a religious institution to bend to a societal norm.

"The San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus is facing a wave of backlash after offering up what it described as ironic humor about fears surrounding children and the "gay agenda."
The backlash came after the chorus posted a video in which members sang about indoctrinating children into being more concerned about "fairness" and "justice."
"You think that we’ll corrupt your kids, if our agenda goes unchecked," one of the members sings. "Funny, just this once, you’re correct."

You don't say? It is crazy that people don't like being told that they are incapable of raising their own children to be good human beings. Crazy I tell you. Sarcasm/

Actually, good. I am for more backlash, it is well deserved and well directed.

DO you want them canceled? 😂😂😂

I don't, I just enjoy seeing stupid virtue signaling replied with a stupid response. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. But as per usual, they play the victim card so well

Western Civ doesn't = White European solely although it is much neater to put it in the white European box.
    Of course it is.
Those said civilizations, did they even posses the wheel?
I am trying to come up with a proper response to that statement, but I am at a loss to the level of ignorance and arrogance in that statement. Good job.

Maybe the 'white' European perfected it, but the corner stones of western civ is from the Greeks and Judaism law, I think the greeks are considered 'white'.

So the wheel question was incorrect? These noble societies/cultures that enslaved and murdered/sacrificed the other conquered tribes possessed the wheel? No. They did not.

Generally, the success of a 'tribe' over another has been based who as the advantage in technology with regards to waging war.

I wasn't sure where to put this, since BLM threw a hissy and a pride organization bowed down and disbanded. I do love to see the left eat their own. Who do we support on this?

Why do we have to choose a side in a disagreement between two groups in Boston that has nothing to do with any of us?

Those are the rules of the game now. You are anti-racist are you not?

Interesting that you go to 'eat their own' vs 'police their own'. From the information in the article, Boston Pride had their own members calling them out for failing to include minorities over a goodly stretch of time and they failed to do so.
An analog would be a pro-Trump group being forced to shut down over their use of Chinese-made apparel and swag.
    Except that doesn't happen.

You are correct. I am wrong. Trump and all.
So in reality, BLM is forcing other minority groups that have been around longer and done more for their community, to adhere to a standard they alone have dictated. Call me a skeptic but whatever group that gets the BLM nod to take their place in Boston will have a few BLM members/leaders in there too and probably make some type of offering.

This has nothing to do with BLM forcing anything on anyone. As pointed out in the article you posted- and as Taurus reiterated- this was pressure from former members of Boston Pride, not from BLM.

"Boston Pride’s milquetoast message was rebuked for a number of reasons. For one, say critics, it did not include the unequivocal statement “Black Lives Matter.” In addition, the statement’s hedging language stopped short of indicting the institutionalized underpinnings of police brutality, and instead rang with needless qualifying of the not-all-cops! variety. It also failed to outline steps that Boston Pride would take to be an organization more reflective of Black LGBTQ voices, or offer ways that this week’s (virtual) Pride series could center itself around antiracism work, as other Pride organizations around the country have done."
