Kamala Harris is a bit of a lightweight. That she got so far in life is a testament to the vast opportunities available in America.

She's actually a very good lawyer and formidable prosecutor. The fact that she has got this far in politics is a testament to the power of sound bites in our instant gratification, short memory span, headline-driven culture. About 5 soundbites have driven her entire career.

She is talented, no question about it. But, in my opinion her rise to stardom is out of proportion to her talents. We could say the same thing about Trump, Biden, and many other politicians.

Let me put it this way, Kamala is not in the same universe of Obama or Bill Clinton. Stacey Abrams is better but she was not seen as attractive.

Yeah, I agree. That's why I highlight her as the soundbite queen. That is important in the current state of American society. Under no circumstances would Kamala have a moment like Obama's 2004 DNC keynote speech. She lacks the gravitas of Obama or Bill Clinton's charisma. She doesn't have the policy chops of Hillary, although I think in the current political climate policy chops are actually a weakness.

Kamala's only "strength" is her ability to drop the occasional 15-second soundbite that appeals to the Democratic base. Her questioning of Barr and "I was that girl" moments mean so much more to people today than actual competence. However, that doesn't get you through an entire primary or general election.

Most voters like the stingers, I agree. That may even explain why Trump won. He was totally empty, but was a comic throwing darts. Teddy Kennedy gave a few great speeches in his heyday and never won.

She at least partially slept her way to the top. That helps.

yea, that's in no way true, but i hear sexist fools bring it up constantly.

If you knew anything about her career you wouldn't bring that up like it is signifigant.

But go ahead and keep repeating the sexist trope because you can't imagine how a black woman could legitimately accomplish more than you.

I was never a big fan of Kamala's from her presidential campaign. It left me very underwhelmed. That's why I was hoping that Stacy's Abrams would be the nominee. Abram's political acumen as well as her ability to handle the press, find compromise while focusing on core tenets, understanding of policy and how to move legislation all far outpaced Kamala's. That was obvious to me way before either was a potential nominee.

I think Harris owe's her choice almost exclusively to her relationship with Beau and her familiarity with the Biden's. Joe trust people he knows, I think that much has always been clear. So her choice wasn't a surprise. Still, for all the hemming and hawing, I haven't seen anything that Harris has done as disastrous. The main complaint about her from the right is that it took so long for her to visit the border. For what exactly, more photo opts?

Kamala is not real. She comes across a someone that panders whomever she thinks needs pandering. However she does it in a clumsy phony manner. She is VP because she is a woman and more physically attractive than Abrams.

Harris is not slouch and she is good enough to be good in triple A ball, but she is not a major leaguer.

She's a much better lawyer than politician. I don't know why she was picked as VP over AG. She's not really an orator and I just don't get the sense that she's authentic. So idk. Just never was a fan of hers. Abrams is a far better politician than Harris will ever be.

Because Biden knows the opposition really wants her as president, Same reason Trump picked Pence.
