I love the raging about how social media taking off posts and such from private users and them launching off about their first amendment rights. Now to clarify my stupidity, but the first amenities only applies to federal government and legal issues am I not correct? I know most states match that protection at a state level, but private business isn’t regulated by first amendment is it?

Private business is not regulated by the first amendment.

But in the generic sense, non-governmental actors can engage in censorship. It’s just that they may be perfectly within their right and prerogative to do it.

Note that in your description you said “most states match” the right at the state level - the first amendment applies to all government actors (including state and local) by operation of the 14th amendment and corollaries in state constitutions.

While I understand what you're saying here, aren't there limitations for news and social media? It does seem like there are a somewhat different set of standards for them compared to other privately owned or publicly traded companies.

no all are considered private, yet in my opinion when they cover brpader public either as media or social networks they should be more responsible for their actions, actually it depends on the court interpretation so there are examples with malls where this is regulated more righteously [1][1][1]

and eventually if it should be enforced somehow for social media that should be done through the unalienable rights in usA, but for what there is little room as I can see ...

If there was such a thing as an inalienable right, there wouldn't be any need for amendments to protect them.

Unfortunately, our legal system says that corporations have a first amendment right, just like individual humans, so corporations can't violate the first amendment, and any attempt to limit their ability to censor people would violate the first amendment.

this is out of m expertise, I just propose how the free speech could be cemented to public e'spaces i.e. if some community is closed one ok its their job, but to be forbidden to speak freely on street eg. MAP is open eforum then normal expression it shouldnt be case, normally swearing cursing or provocation would be, yet again what for whom is provocative, to someone wrong avatar can provoke tension or tutoring if not else et. etc.

about corporations being on level of citizens yeas I am aware about that, even pointing the same to TheResister in the linked PoFo thread, but overall as I am aware if some group have enough will and push for own ideas it could be shaped easily mids the us'constitution, wasnt that issue with the patriotic act!?

@DaveXA indeed if we all flush the threads with big time gifs like that of superchuck500 then this place will look like fakebook, I mean I dont mind even I can join the fun but as eTool like eForums are becoming more childish than respectful place for debate ... at least he could be more creative and spend some time finding if not making comic block regarding freedom of speech ...

Post something that I can make sense of and then we can carry on. The first step to debate is stating premise or argument that the other participants can understand. I have read your post about five or six times and I still don’t quite know what you’re saying.

But instead of saying all of that ^^, I simply choose a graphic representation of the same idea.

That’s not spam, and what is DTT?
