    Figured we should start a separate thread on the arrests and those involved in the storming of the Capitol. I know it has been talked about in the other thread a lot, but for the ones who just want to follow the ones arrested and/or charged, this will be an easier way to see updates on the investigations.

    Link below is everyone who has been arrested. But we know there will be more.

    The website seems to be updated with new information daily.

    The ones who are getting the most air time:

    Article on military Jan 6th
    ===============
    Within days of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, some people who participated were fired from their jobs when images showing them storming the building appeared online.

    But the process is playing out differently for service members charged in the riot.
Commanders are waiting for legal proceedings at the Justice Department before they make administrative decisions for charged troops, defense officials have said.

    At least five service members face federal charges for allegedly participating: an active-duty Marine Corps officer who was arrested last week, two part-time soldiers in the Army Reserve and two in the National Guard.

    Their charges include assaulting federal police, violent entry and disorderly conduct at the Capitol.......

    Why is the military waiting to take action?
Warnagiris, a Marine Corps officer, was accused last week of leading rioters in through the east doors of the Capitol Rotunda.

    He has been charged with five counts, including assaulting and obstructing police during a civil disorder and obstructing an official proceeding of Congress, according to federal prosecutors.

    Military officials will coordinate with civilian prosecutors any UCMJ action that Warnagiris might face to “avoid negatively impacting the case due to legal and other logistical considerations,” said Maj. J.A. Hernandez, a Marine Corps spokesperson.

    Waiting for a decision before determining whether Warnagiris should be kicked out of the military is practical, VanLandingham said.........

    Some going with the “I just got caught up” defense
    ================
    Christopher Grider said he came to Washington on Jan. 6 with no intention of rioting. But he got caught up in the mob of angry supporters of then-President Donald Trump as they surged into the U.S. Capitol, breaking through police barriers and smashing through doors.

    It wasn’t his fault, he said, that he ended up inside the building with a yellow “Don’t Tread on Me” flag around his neck as lawmakers ran for their lives.

    Grider, 39, a winery owner and former school teacher in Texas is among at least a dozen Capitol riot defendants identified by The Associated Press who have claimed their presence in the building was a result of being “caught up” in the hysteria of the crowd or that they were pushed inside by sheer force.

    For some, blaming the mob is part of an attempt to restore reputations tarnished by their presence at an event of such infamy. Others may try to broach the issue at trial or at least during sentencing in bids for leniency.

    Social scientists have long observed how individuals can act in ways they never would on their own when they are in crowds of like-minded people who are whipped into a frenzy..........

    They should never have a job in this country again, attack anyone who hires any of these traitors. Traitors lost their voice in this country and their job also but they should never have a job again. No traitor should get anything but the death penalty. The law and order hypocrites have to support the sentences they get and how ruff it makes their future. Plus they can find out how they can be on the streets,on welfare, bried in a group that they say is made up of only low lives and criminals ,boy will they fit in.

    so the party of "accountability" doesn't want to be accountable for their own actions.. lol Funny how that works...

    Lawyer for the 'QAnon Shaman' released a video claiming to show him stop someone from stealing a muffin during the Capitol riot

    I watched the video/ 2 things: 1) the video doesn't actually show him telling the guy not to steal it, he just tells him "hey" "hey". 2) we all know he is "organic only foods" How do we know he wasn't just telling the guy not to eat it because it probably wasn't organic?
    You would think the more ridiculous excuses they keep throwing out there, the more the prosecution just adds it to their arsenal....

    Seriously stop it! Lol

    "Your Honor, yes Q-Shaman put on war-paint, intentionally entered the Capitol with the admitted purpose of disrupting essential proceedings to ensure the peaceful transfer of power in the United States, took part in a riot that led to the evacuation of Congress and the Vice President for fear for their lives, and stood proudly at the Senate president's desk - but he kept somebody from stealing a muffin . . . so we submit that it all evens out."

    21 months seems way to low to me
    =========================

    Paul Hodgkins, a Florida man who waved a "Trump 2020" flag and took a selfie inside the Senate chamber on January 6, became the second defendant to plead guilty in the sprawling Capitol riot investigation.

    Hodgkins initially faced a five-count indictment that included obstructing an official proceeding, entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, and disorderly conduct in a Capitol building, but he pleaded guilty Wednesday to just one charge of obstruction of an official proceeding, and the government agreed to dismiss his four other charges.

    That charge carries a maximum possible penalty of 20 years imprisonment, but with his plea agreement, Hodgkins faces a recommended sentence of between 15 and 21 months.

    In agreeing to plead guilty, Hodgkins also agreed to pay $2,000 in restitution. The government said the events of January 6 cost an estimated $1.4 million in repairs to the Capitol.......................

    Hodgkins was caught after a tipster called the FBI to say they recognized him in a selfie apparently taken at the Capitol. The tipster said they personally knew Hodgkins but had not spoken to him in several years, and a friend of a friend had found the photo on Parler, a social media platform popular with conservatives and members of the far right.........

    That has to be the same lawyer that represented this dude:

    Sitting in jail awaiting his hearing appears to have snapped this Qanon out of it.
