You guys would act like the world was ending with some things Trump would say or do, but you seem to look the other way or make excuses when Biden does the same. Trump did many things that are worse than Biden, but does that mean we shouldn't say something about it?

I dunno about the world ending but Trump's rhetoric directly led to last ransacking of the Capitol Building since 1814. My specific issue is with the false equivalency. I didn't find anything particularly egregious about what Biden said. Maxine Waters? Yes. But not Biden.

Totally inappropriate for Biden to comment on the trial before its over.

What about his comments are specifically inappropriate? Where is he saying anything that would incite violence? What do you say he's insinuating? Shouldn't we always want the 'right verdict'?

    Seems pretty tame.

I mean, it's not like your guy who was publicly calling for the death penalty of a terrorist (which, is kinda fair, to be honest), and likely caused issues for finding uncontaminated jurors, or could have lead to a mistrial. And the HUNDREDS of other cases he spoke about either before or after they were ruled. In many cases insulting the various judges that ruled on them.

This one was from 2017, he only just begun...

Lawyers for the suspect in the New York attack, Sayfullo Saipov, almost certainly will argue that Trump’s two tweets saying Saipov should get the “DEATH PENALTY” will make it harder for their client to receive a fair trial or sentence.

Although some legal experts said judges in Manhattan’s federal courts will not let the president’s remarks throw the case off track, Trump’s comments broke with longstanding tradition against presidents publicly commenting on criminal cases.

“Once again, the President sabotages his own lawyers, and makes it virtually impossible to provide the defendant with a fair trial,” South Texas College of Law professor Josh Blackman said on Twitter.

Trump’s first comment came around midnight, a few hours after prosecutors filed federal terrorism charges against Saipov, a 29-year-old immigrant from Uzbekistan. Authorities say Saipov was inspired by the Islamic State group when he veered into a city bike path in Manhattan on Tuesday, killing eight people.

The court filing signaled an intent to prosecute him in civilian courts in the United States and was at odds with earlier comments by Trump and others that he might be held as an “enemy combatant” or even be sent to the naval brig at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

By Thursday morning, Trump himself said Saipov would be prosecuted in New York, which the president said would be faster than subjecting him to a military tribunal at Guantanamo. No one held in the U.S. has been sent to Guantanamo since the detention center opened in January 2002.

“There is also something appropriate about keeping him in the home of the horrible crime he committed. Should move fast. DEATH PENALTY!” the president said in a tweet.

    ......

The president’s potential for influencing a criminal case also has arisen in the court martial of Bergdahl. The Army sergeant’s lawyers said candidate Trump’s description of Bergdahl as a “dirty rotten traitor” who should be executed unfairly affected his trial.

Bergdahl faces up to life in prison after pleading guilty to charges that he endangered comrades by walking off his post in Afghanistan in 2009.

The judge, Army Col. Jeffery Nance, has said he was not directly affected by Trump’s criticism of Bergdahl, but that he would consider Trump’s comments as a mitigating factor in the sentencing.

There has rarely been a juror so tainted as the forewoman in the Roger Stone case. Look at her background. She never revealed her hatred of “Trump” and Stone. She was totally biased, as is the judge. Roger wasn’t even working on my campaign. Miscarriage of justice. Sad to watch!

There are a lot of CRIMINALS in the Caravan. We will stop them. Catch and Detain! Judicial Activism, by people who know nothing about security and the safety of our citizens, is putting our country in great danger. Not good!

    — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 21, 2018

Justice Roberts can say what he wants, but the 9th Circuit is a complete & total disaster. It is out of control, has a horrible reputation, is overturned more than any Circuit in the Country, 79%, & is used to get an almost guaranteed result. Judges must not Legislate Security...

    — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 22, 2018

....and Safety at the Border, or anywhere else. They know nothing about it and are making our Country unsafe. Our great Law Enforcement professionals MUST BE ALLOWED TO DO THEIR JOB! If not there will be only bedlam, chaos, injury and death. We want the Constitution as written!

I was wondering was Tuckers take would be

    didn’t disappoint
    ===============

After a jury convicted former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin of murder and manslaughter on Tuesday in the death of George Floyd, Fox New host Tucker Carlson suggested they weren’t swayed by the testimony of more than three dozen witnesses or visceral video of Floyd pleading, “I can’t breathe.”

Instead, Carlson argued, the jurors were intimidated into the guilty verdict by the months of racial justice protests that followed Floyd’s death.

“The jurors in the Derek Chauvin trial came to a unanimous and unequivocal verdict this afternoon: ‘Please don’t hurt us,’” Carlson said on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

Carlson added, "Everyone understood perfectly well the consequences of an acquittal in this case. After nearly a year of burning and looting and murder by BLM, that was never in doubt.”.....

Carlson noted of Chauvin that “if given the maximum sentence under the law, he will spend the rest of his life in prison,” and then asked, “Is that a fair punishment? Is the officer guilty of the specific crimes for which he was just convicted? We can debate all that.”

He then pointed to racial justice protests and argued that they had subverted the criminal justice system.

“No mob has the right to destroy our cities,” he said. “No politician or media figure has the right to intimidate a jury.”
He added, “It’s an attack on civilization.”

Carlson’s guests echoed that assertion, including conservative commentator Candace Owens.
“What we’re really seeing is mob justice. That’s really what happened with this entire trial,” she said, later adding, “This was not a fair trial. No person can say this was a fair trial.”...........

Oh please. We all know exactly what Biden was insinuating and it's totally inappropriate for a President to comment on case that hasn't been decided. You know it and your partisan defense of Biden is transparent.

Here's the thing I don't get...how did so many news outlets get that SOOOOO wrong?

Biden said "I'm praying the verdict is the right verdict. It's overwhelming, in my view." He said that in front of cameras and microphones, it was recorded by multiple sources.

How did one (not to mention more than one) outlet somehow replace "It's" with "the evidence" in a direct quote?

You know, there could be a discussion to be had there if they weren't presenting the point in such an absurd manner.

As such, there's no reason to get into bullshirt presented by people like Tucker who are being intentionally misleading and dishonest.

    Sorry

You, Farb, Beach Friends and all the rest aren't allowed to say a presidential comment is 'inappropriate'

All this pearl clutching, "why I've never seen such behavior" isn't going to work here and you'll get called out on it every single time

And the counter of "oh NOW the rules have changed?!" is total weak sauce

Especially when they make direct reference back to Trump (in regards to 'inciting a riot,' come-on, that's why he posted it, he thought he was pointing out hypocrisy) when trying to score a point against Biden.

Fish Sticks seems kinda unhinged there, IMO. I’ve seen rumors that something embarrassing to him is about to drop.

I don't wonder what Tucker's response is. I used to think he was not as bad as Hannity. Not anymore. They're cut from the same cloth. Fork em both.
