No, I really think UK politics is pretty lively. It’s sort of a conundrum why a Brit would be so heavily invested in defending our miscreants when they have their own supply.

It's that eternal love of the former colonies. They miss us...

(Memo to France though, Louisiana is up for sale. Make it happen. Lol)

LOL. More unattributed anonymous sources for the New York Times. I'm not impressed.

Let us not forget that this character Gaetz has not been charged - let alone convicted - yet ?
Well, I say "not convicted"... it appears that he has in sections of the US media. But then, he IS a republican, so OBVIOUSLY he's guilty ?

    From the Cuomo thread:

Now that the election is over, the MSM don't need to soft-pedal charges against Democrats, and hence can give him full, due coverage.

    Pick a lane.

Lmao. Why do y’all waste your time with this guy?

Silence, colonial worm, lest her Majesty send over a gunboat to settle your hash !!

Actually, UK politics ARE somewhat boring compared to the freak show in the USA. Both our politicians, media, and public are incredibly restrained compared to yours. (with the possible exception of Norther Ireland, where the natives are currently rioting over.. umm.. actually, nobody seems to know ? )

P.S. .. umm.. could you lend me a couple of gunboats ? The Royal Navy is a bit short on money ?

So Gaetz's associate (the "tax collector"), Joel Greenberg has agreed to cooperate with the Gaetz investigation.

Who is Joel Greenberg? He's a piece of work, that's for sure.

Here's Greenberg's attorney today (and for the record, I think this kind of public commentary from counsel is bad form).

Sounds like possible trying to comp a plea deal????

its like he had a devil and angel on each shoulder and the lil devil won out. lolol. You can CLEARLY see his attempts to self-regulate only to give in lolol.

Does the fact that he is taking a plea deal mean that the government thinks Matt Gaetz has committed worse crimes than Greenberg?

bigger fish with clearly more access is my guess.

Who knows what you find when you start peeling the onion back, layer by layer.

No, it doesn’t mean that. He was already facing 33 charges for all kinds of crap.

What would the government gain from offering him a plea deal at this point?

Do they think they need him because they don’t have enough to convict Gaetz without him?

Or are they just doing a cost benefit analysis factoring in the resources saved by the combination of a guilty plea from Greenberg and not having to search for the extra evidence against Gaetz that Greenberg has to offer?

    Or does it mean anything?
