This election nonsense by Trump may end up splitting up the Republican Party. I just don’t see how the one third (?) who are principled conservatives can stay in the same party with Trump sycophants who are willing to sign onto the TX Supreme Court case.

We also saw the alt right types chanting “destroy the GOP” in Washington today because they didn’t keep Trump in power. I think the Q types will also hold the same ill will toward the traditional Republican Party. In fact its quite possible that all the voters who are really in a Trump personality cult will also blame the GOP for his loss. It’s only a matter of time IMO before Trump himself gets around to blaming the GOP.

There is some discussion of this on Twitter. What do you all think?

Grandpa munster shouldn't quit his day job... oh wait, he did...

John Boehner has been going off script while recording the audio version of his new memoir, using expletives and asides not in the book — such as the former Republican House speaker saying, “Oh, and Ted Cruz, go f**k yourself."

Oh man... and C-PAC is full of the religious types?

And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him: 'Up, make us a god who shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we know not what is become of him.

And Aaron said unto them: 'Break off the golden rings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me.'

And all the people broke off the golden rings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron.

And he received it at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, and made it a molten calf; and they said: 'This is thy god, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.'

And when Aaron saw this, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said: 'To-morrow shall be a feast to the LORD.'

And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt-offerings, and brought peace-offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to make merry.

And the LORD spoke unto Moses: 'Go, get thee down; for thy people, that thou broughtest up out of the land of Egypt, have dealt corruptly; they have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them; they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed unto it, and said: This is thy god, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.'

This is why the Duck Dynasty guys and all these other fundamentalist who worship Trump are absolute frauds and, honestly, more sinful than atheists.

As an atheist (well, anti-theist actually), I resent that remark. Atheists do not sin more than Christians (or other theists). The difference is their sins are not forgiven.

A good amount of them have never read it, and of those who have, a good amount are unable to apply what they have read to what is happening.

The description states that the national socialist movement decided to include the symbol on their flag. That's a different group than fascists, right? I'm actually a bit confused by that.
Here ya go, this should help clear things up for you:

Mr Schoep knows the world is changing. He watched as Brexit revealed a seething underbelly of resentment towards outsiders. As Donald Trump swept to the most powerful position in the free world on a platform littered with policies spruiked by the NSM and the KKK.

Even in Australia, there’s change. Pauline Hanson’s One Nation gathered up Senate seats in August despite a significant percentage of Australians bemoaning her position on foreigners.

But nobody wants a neo-Nazi in the halls of parliament. That’s a step too far, according to Mr Schoep. The Odal rune, a less-well-known Nazi Germany symbol, will take the place of the swastika on all official uniforms and banners.

Mr Schoep says it’s a gentler approach to preaching the same messages.

...“We intend to take our party into the halls of government, and our past symbolism has held us back. Too many people get a negative image in their minds due to the brainwashing against the swastika historically, and (we have heard) literally thousands of people tell us the only thing that has held them back from joining our ranks is the symbolism.

“Our political platform can save our nation, and almost anyone who reads it agrees with most of our political points, so we are entering a new era now in American national socialism, and we expect it will bring us where we need to be, especially now with nationalism on the rise worldwide.

“Yes, we are going more mainstream. It’s not that we are against the swastika, it is public perception, and the public’s lack of understanding, so we are not allowing ourselves to be held back from actual political power, due to symbolism alone.”

I tend to think it was unintentional, but if it was intentional, wouldn't shock me either.

and if this was the stage at say a dental conference or a state spelling bee they’d get the benefit of the doubt

but for a group that has a serious nationalist, racist and nazi problem?

    i’d be suspicious at best

at ‘worst’ , dead certain that it was intentional

until nolapse made the post I can’t say I’d ever seen that symbol before
if it was intentional it was by someone who thought they were being terribly clever
