    This election nonsense by Trump may end up splitting up the Republican Party. I just don’t see how the one third (?) who are principled conservatives can stay in the same party with Trump sycophants who are willing to sign onto the TX Supreme Court case.

    We also saw the alt right types chanting “destroy the GOP” in Washington today because they didn’t keep Trump in power. I think the Q types will also hold the same ill will toward the traditional Republican Party. In fact its quite possible that all the voters who are really in a Trump personality cult will also blame the GOP for his loss. It’s only a matter of time IMO before Trump himself gets around to blaming the GOP.

    There is some discussion of this on Twitter. What do you all think?

    Looks like there may be the start of the start of something coming
    We'll see what happens after Trump's speech as the keynote speaker at CPAC. With the whispers of only MAGA approved candidates being allowed to run for open house seats and whatnot in 2022, there could be some ugly happenings within the GOP - which are totally necessary. That party needs to be sanitized.

    So half of the people who still consider themselves republicans are willing to ditch their party to remain in the Trump Cult. Not surprised.

    At just a bit less than 50% defecting, that would cripple both the GOP and the new party.

    This is the first good idea that they have had in a long time. I am all for this.
    I agree. Both the Trump Party and GOP would have a really hard time getting a majority vote of anything. The GOP already resorts to gerrymandering and voter suppression to win races so this would just be another nail in their coffin of legitimacy.

    I’m sure they would caucus together. Where it would hurt would be presidential races.

    Did you mean coffin of “illegitimacy”?

    Nah. That's what they're building with these new strategies. I'm talking about the GOP legitimacy of John McCain Republicans and the like. They're doing everything they can to destroy the GOP that was built by people who (mostly) had principles, honor, respect for others on both sides of the aisle, etc.. They're turning the GOP that I joined at 18 into a populist embarrassment based on who can be the trashiest and own the libs in the process. That's seemingly their new platform.

    I legit want this to happen, if for no other reason than to prove this Trumper nonsense is ultimately the worst thing for our country.

    Since the Trump tracker thread is closed I’ll post this here
    CNN right now is talking about how Trump offered Kim Jong Un a ride on Air Force One

    imagine if Obama had done the same
    ================

    President Donald Trump offered North Korean leader Kim Jong Un a ride home on Air Force One after the two met for a second time at a summit in Hanoi, Vietnam, in 2019, a new BBC documentary has reported........
