Everything I've seen and heard says that the split second Donald Trump is no longer president there will be flood of charges waiting for him

And if he resigns and Pence pardons him there are a ton of state charges as an understudy waiting in the wings if the fed charges can't perform

What do you think the likelihood of there being a jail sentence?

    In every movie and TV show I've ever seen, in every political thriller I've ever read about a criminal and corrupt president there is ALWAYS some version of;

"We can't do that to the country",

"A trial would tear the country apart",

"For the nation to heal we need to move on" etc.

    Would life imitate art?

Even with the charges, even with the proof the charges are true will the powers that be decide, "we can't do that to the country"?

Blimey.. now your asking. I seem to recall at least one per month from 2016 onwards; it seemed there was always some jerk standing on the proverbial courthouse steps and bloviating to the camera about his lawsuite. Trying to find them NOW, especially as most of them don't seem to have been pursued, is difficult.

Don't you remember this yourself ?

As it happens, I do not recall monthly bloviating on the courthouse steps. I must have been distracted by Trump's lurching from one disaster/norm shattering/racist comment/dogwhistle/foreign policy blunder/egregious political appointment/civil service evisceration/embarrassing diplomatic moment/petty slander/pointless and childish twitter war/ outright lie/purposeful misrepresentation/blatant falsehood/scurrilous deception to another. At the rate of 7-8,000 lies a year, it's hard to keep up. I've asked you name a few of these courthouse step bloviations and your response is, "so many." Neither helpful or persuasive.

Finding information is in fact remarkably easy. Take a gander at this wiki page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_lawsuits_involving_Donald_Trump
It's a long list but probably not complete or absolutely up to date. You'll see that many suits name Trump in his former role as Head of the Government, others him personally, others his business. Some have failed or have been dropped because he is no longer President, some were settled out of court via arbitration, others are in process. Meanwhile, other investigations are taking place.

Perhaps you're unfamiliar with the phrase, "The wheels of justice grind slowly." There are suits, and counter suits, and motions for discovery, and motions to block discovery, etc. etc. etc. The Manhattan DA's investigation has not yet resulted in formal charges. You seem to think that "since 2019" is a long time. It's not, especially when you consider that it was only in July of last year that the Supreme Court ruled that the State of New York could issue a grand jury subpoena of Trump's financial records. Trump then filed two appeals which failed. This kind of thing makes investigations go slowly, and Trump is a master at playing the legal system.

Well then.. lets await events ?

Seems like you think this is going to happen at the snap of a finger and if it doesn’t, nothing will happen. Also Trump fought tooth and nail for his financial documents so it’s hard to move forward on what they suspect is happening without the official paperwork.

I can be patient. Whilst still somewhat chuckling at the people who suggested the 'lawsuites' would begin the instant Trump became a normal citizen again.

I'm still of the opinion that the majority of these 'lawsuites' where just political posturing on behalf of the plaintiff.

What have you read about the majority of these lawsuits that leads you to this opinion?

Do you keep putting the word "lawsuit" inside apostrophes instead of quotes because you continually misspell it or because you don't understand what a lawsuit is?

Or because I am implying that the "lawsuit" was actually a bogus exercise in media manipulation, and didn't actually exist ?

I was going to laugh before the realization that you actually believe what you said set in on me. The media has failed us but not for the reason you believe. The only manipulation that has occurred has come from Trump and the republican party and their supporters. They have manipulated the truth and the minds of the gullible into believing that they are on the side of right and the American people. They are neither.

And yet you still can't or won't point to specific examples.
It's REALLY hard to track down lawsuits that where announced, but allowed to quietly die, Yggdrasill. They just don't seem to exist on google. I wish I'd noted down the specifics when they where announced all those years ago :(

    I'll keep on trying.

this whole where instead of were thing is getting really frustrating.

    the verb is were.

    no H.

the word were is the past form of be in the second person singular.

Apparently, SCOTUS has declined Trump's request to shield his taxes from NY investigators. Interesting development.

I appreciate that and I am really not trying to be a pain. My concern is that Trump's supporters - not saying you're one - like to feed and feed off his central fascist narrative of the persecuted leader. I think he suffered a lot of criticism, which frankly he brought on himself (my opinion), but not persecution. An untrue notion of a mountain of frivolous lawsuits reinforces that false narrative, which is dangerous. That's why I am asking.

Also, as the wiki page shows, he has been involved in tons of lawsuits, as plaintiff and defendant. But I don't think that he has been the target of a slew of frivolous ones.

Michael Cohen was on the Dan Abrams show today, and he said that Manhattan District Attorney is pursuing 12 different charges, only 1 of which was Stormy Daniels. He said that he has provided the DA information on 1/3rd of them, and that he has documents to support and corroborate a lot of the information they already have. He also said that it will impact others in Trump's orbit, and I believe he said that includes his kids. He said he is certain that Trump will be indicted. The SCOTUS allowing the DA to get the tax returns will further reinforce the case. I think the only argument they have left is that Trump didn't know. I wonder if Cohen has information to debunk that argument?
