    Have you been enjoying it?

I even know a Trump supporter who agrees it has been pleasant. Not that Trump is out of office so much as that he's not on Twitter, not on social media, not driving the constant news cycle with divisive messaging, often all-caps, one lie or distortion after another.

And then in almost an instant, the peace has returned. Its as if we can hear the crickets in the night again. No, the divisive politics aren't gone, and yes we have all sorts of problems to resolve. But that droning on and on and on has gone quiet. And it's fantastic.

I hate to say something as cliche as the calm before the storm, however, given how the GOP still refuses to distance itself from Trump I expect the next four years to be a brief reprieve of sane governance in the White House.

Yeah to some extent it is all gonna depend if someone gives his sorry arse air time. I think all but fox who depend on him learned their lessons . They made him hunting for ratings.

The mistake last go around the press was putting that circus on thinking ratings and nobody would take it seriously.

With the Twitter ban he is truly dead and it is beautiful

It has been nice, but there's an abundance of House Republicans that are trying their best to fill the void.

It's like when the cicadas finally shut up.
You didn't realize how oppressive that endless, inchoate chirring really was until it stopped.

Disagree, trout and bass like to eat cicadas. As a flyfisher that endless, inchoate chirring is beautiful music to my ears :)

It's more like when someone has their fingernails trimmed so short, they can no longer reach the chalkboard.....

I am enjoying waking up many days without a sense of dread driving me to check twitter to see what fresh hell we had in store that day due to whatever insane effery he had decided to embark on.

Now, having the meme game drop significantly is a totally unimportant trade-off that I gladly accept to not be in the last 4 years that we just endured.

Well, we've got the Bernie memes to make up for it. :hihi:

Someone on facebook this morning was wondering "where all the Biden fans went from before the election to now that he's in office" because his timeline was so quiet.

Buddy that's your answer. We don't HAVE to talk about him every single day and defend crazy nonsense spewing out of his twitter feed every hour. Also we don't have to defend him every second of the day because he's just a guy in office not a god like you guys built up and treated Trump for the last four years.
