We all know how Louisiana's greatest football player ever Drew Brees feels about Mr. President Trump, but now we have the greatest hip-hop artist of all time, the greatest musician ever in the history of Louisiana supporting President Trump for a 2nd term as well.

Louisiana is definitely a Trump state. So proud to live here!

Anyone that actually hates another human being for their political beliefs, favorite football team, taste in music, etc.... is a mentally challenged to put it lightly.

He should be able to express what he believes in - without persecution or fear of retribution...

It's a fairly basic American concept that only recently (social media age) has been flipped - and now people seem to take it personally if you disagree with them about anything - and see their options as a personality trait.

Good news for Weezy - He's probably got enough $$$ to really not give a flip... LOL

    Still sad though.

    Agreed

but, said person should also be able to provide some proof or evidence or reasoning about why they believe what they believe

Especially if what they believe goes against conventional wisdom

That goes for moon landings and 'both sides'ing everything

Fortunately, only one person is this thread expressed hate for this reason.

Calling people "mentally challenged" because you don't like what they say or think is the same as hating someone for what they say or think. It's just an another SIDE of the same dice of disrespect and name calling.

It's a fairly common and basic American concept that only recently has been flipped - and now people seem to take it personally if you disagree - and see their options as a personality trait.

    Pretty sad.

Who said they hated him or is persecuting him exactly? I think most people just think he's a moron. Thanks for the predictable pseudo-intellectual post.

More importantly, when in the history of this great nation have people not been criticized for their political beliefs? It's not just normal, it's as American as baseball, apple pie, Dad-bods, and free Internet porn.

    Pretty sad.

I think that's theoretically true, especially in the tradition of American politics.

Where it gets dicey is when one person has a fairly legitimate basis to see a particular policy or government activity as inhumane or entirely objectionable. For example, if someone believes that the Trump administration has harmed children at the border with immigration policies or the future of the planet by environmental policies. Conversely, if someone believes that the Democrats commitment to pro-choice law and policies is taking innocent lives before they are born.

If someone strongly believes those things and holds them as core beliefs in their lives, it's not hard to understand how they could reject someone for supporting the people and structures that accomplish them. I think we all would agree that, at some point, a policy becomes so objectionable that we are compelled to object those who support it. The rise of the Third Reich is an easy example, but it does demonstrate the point - was it sad for some to reject Nazism and revile those who supported it? History now holds that not nearly enough rejected it even when they believed it to be objectionable.

Obviously we're not talking about the same kinds of policies, but where that line is will be both arbitrary and subjective - it is in the eye of the beholder. These aren't benign differences. And Trump, in particular, has long been committed to divisive rhetoric and to the challenge or even destruction of the traditions and norms of the presidency . . . it is part of what fuels his devoted support. And that same enthusiasm has a flip side.

I guess I did use the word hate. But I think it was pretty clear hate was used in the sense of "hate the Falcons" and not the sense of the far right hating black people. I certainly didn't even remotely recommend any persecution or violence. Give me a break.

So... having an opinion now requires that a person must provide you of proof as to why they believe it... or it's invalid...?

Interesting. This is will be a tough sell to 6 billion or so people in the world that believe in some form of God.... LMAO

Good luck with that... let me know how it works out. Also.. wisdom is not conventional...

I am also not going to entertain you guys with examples of anything - you don't want proof... you want an argument. Anyone that can't plainly see that each side of the divide (R and D) have done any and everything over the last 16 or so years to split us into single issue - farmed - "not with me so you are against me" - identity type voters... is not going to see anything as proof contrary to what they believe anyway... all of this stuff you guys are asking for is a Google click away - you've already made your decision and choose to ignore it.

I get that... for someone that likens Trump to Hilter... It's more than that....

For someone that likens Biden to Chavez... It's more than that....

So we agree, I think it's over blown.... and has more to do with (force feed) perception than it does reality - and people take it too far.

Which side of that divide are you on?

The one that leads to the end of single issue divisive identity driven partisan politics in this country...

The one where smelly Walmart shoppers, Looters, and MS13 gangsters all get to vote for the candidate they want to.... and not between the 2 that are pre-chosen by elites and thrown at us after the fact.

This guy is a complete embarrassment. Rooting for the Vikings over the Saints alone should make all people from Louisiana hate this guy. The rest of it just a joke (especially the title).

You're actions are the same as the actions you are pointing out as bad.

Is that the Republican or Democratic side of the divide?

Would you please stop using such judgemental and combatitive language about others in your posts? I get that you might be trying to make a sarcastic point, but even if that is the case you are still helping to perpetuate disrespectful stereotypes.

I'm making fun of them, and pointing out how insane this conversation is... because this is what we get from our divisive parties... if you don't like it... take it up with them... I didn't coin any of that - or perpetuate the stereotypes.... the opposing parties did - to keep us busy fighting one another rather than calling them out on their BS.... you can keep ignoring it and acting like only one side does this, but it doesn't make it any less laughable.
