The football board had the very useful Daily Trump Tracker thread, which was a good place to briefly discuss the latest ridiculous thing that might have ended 97% of prior Presidential administrations even if it didn't necessarily justify an entire thread devoted to it in 2017-2019 (because of the sheer volume of these things). Since I don't see anything like that here already, I'll add one myself.

But the difference is that there were more undecided voters at this point in 2016. Everything I am seeing is that Biden is hitting 50% in a number of the swing states, while back in 2016, Hillary never hit that number.

50% is big. That means that Trump has to convince Biden voters to switch in order to win. A lot harder to do than to get an undecided vote.

50-46 is much stronger than 45-40.
Not to mention there's no Johnson or Stein to fork everything up this time. Whoever the Green Party candidate is looked like a total moron in an interview and Kanye West is the closest thing behind him AFAIK.

The Babylon Bee is generally not funny enough to be immediately recognized as obvious satire, so I understand why gullible old people like my elderly parents or our elderly President could be duped. But that is pretty bad. Especially bad for someone whose primary campaign message is that his opponent is also old and confused.

Imagine, even for a second, what Sean Hannity would do if Obama had quote tweeted an Onion article and described it as real. If it would have happened in 2013, it would have been Hannity's lead story still tonight.

    Trump changed his mind.
After he realized he was getting backlash on how appallingly petty it made him look.
