Would you get tested if you have no symptoms, have not been around anyone that has been sick or have been in a hotspot area?

Well, I voted yes but that was before I read about not being in a hotspot. I'm in a somewhat of a hotspot, and I have to go into the office every other week. So I'd be interested in getting tested every couple of weeks, just to make sure I don't pass it around.

Wouldn't mind an antibody test, but if I have no reason to believe I need to get tested today then why would I? Do I get tested next again tomorrow or next week under the same circumstances?

I saw a video of the CCP testing people in Wuhan recently. The people who were to be tested were lined up on top of each other and the people who were doing the testing were not even changing gloves between tests. That's Governor Coumo level dumb.

If my employer requires it for me to return to the workplace and unlimited bandwidth Internet provided by my employer, hell yes!
For work purposes, home satellite Internet blows.

I can see China weeding out the positives from the negatives and the positives disappearing.

Not China. They have been a great example of transparency and inspiration to all the world during this horrible pandemic. Ask anyone, they will tell you.

    * with the caveat that tests are plentiful and low-cost, so that I'm not taking a test from someone else who needs it or would be better served with it than I.

I’m taking the anti-body test later today, and would definitely take the Covid test if it comes back negative. I want to know whether I have it and asymptomatic so I can immediately warn everyone I’ve been around.

You test for the virus first so you know if you are a carrier. If you test positive no need for the antibody test.

If you come back negative from the virus test then you do an antibody test to know if you have ever had it.

If you don't have antibodies wear mask until vaccine.

This stuff is stupid simple. Way easier than bailing out the entire nation.

They could have ramped up testing and we would all know what to do personally and employers would also know what to do with certain workers that have antibodies and those that do not.

But you know that would be logic and uncle Sam never uses that.

They are testing everyone in that province in ten days
    11 million people.

More than the us of a has done in two months.

If you believe what they say.

In either case, the way they are conducting the tests will result in a lot more infections. It is incredibly stupid to have people lined up on top of each other and not even have the testers change out their gloves between tests.

I know I would not want to be tested under those conditions.

I guess you would find some comfort in having the state tell you what to do, regardless of whether it actually put you at risk.

Why would it matter what I have?
You could shed for more than 14 days, because Covid doesn’t behave like other diseases. Also, you would probably be safer to participate in routine activities after 3 weeks with less concern about spreading Covid, since it is much more dangerous than a flu or cold.

It is incredibly stupid to only test humans that are stupid sick. Needing the ICU sick like this government is doing.

Hell we have a guy that posts here getting tested today that has been trying to get tested for four weeks and finally it is getting done.

I don't care what your angle is here.

Test people. The negatives get antibody test to know if they ever have had it.

If you test positive you don't have antibodies yet so antibody test is stupid and a throwing a test away.

So everyone should get the coronavirus test first so we can then effectively quarantine the correct people and not all people!

That is the only real fix before the vaccine is available.

Put what ever spin you want to on this I don't care. Because this is the only true fix.

That is what truly needs to be done before we can really get back to anything that feels like normal.

The bailouts of all the giant corporate entities was not needed if this administration committed to testing.

If this administration committed to testing early we would not have 91,582 deaths as of right now.
